Blimey this brings back memories, was at the Aldershot game, was bank holiday Monday. Kerry Dixon was Wood's manager but the word at Slough was he'd been arrested on the Saturday, something to do with a pub he ran. The peerless Gary Abbott scored the only goal iirc.

View from the Boundary - So what's new, I Iost count of the times Kerry Dixon got arrested bacK in the day.

Sorry to do a Tommy SteeIe again folks but 'what a picture, what a picture, what a photograph' of the Leighton Town squad for the 2022/23 campaign. I wonder what Joe Sweeney thinks as most of 'his' players have sadly left who took the Club to two FA Vase Quarter Finals in two seasons during Joe's 'rollercoaster' and 'never a dull moment' tenure at Bell Close:

Line ups from a Leighton Town v Brache Sparta 1991/92 Bedfordshire FA Senior Cup tie, at Bell Close on Saturday 9 November 1991, Leighton Town, who were South Midlands League Premier Champions that season, won 3-0 with goals Robert Larkin, Gary Wray and Gary Sealey, I believe Barry O'Keefe was Manager at that time:

Who remembers this great Leighton United squad from the late 1950's playing in the South Midlands League Premier Division, they had a player called Cliff Pratt who scored goals for fun, mostly with his head. The Club returned to the name Leighton Town for the 1963/64 campaign which has remained ever since:

If you don’t remember, or know, about the 2 games, you’re not a Town fan. Safe to say, they’re written in Leighton Buzzard folk-law forever and people still, to this day, talk about the games regularly.

AlwaysLeighton1 - I have unearthed a photograph from the game with Aldershot Town at Bell Close on Saturday 30 January 1993 in front of 1,522, wasn't the Leighton Town goalkeeper Mark Townson only sixteen, he stopped everything that Aldershot threw at him on the day.
