Lets hope that Jack Metcalfe's men can somehow manage to keep the score respectable this afternoon when they tavel to the Recreation Ground for the First Leg of the Colney Cup, otherwise there will be little or no interest at Cotlandswick next Saturday:

The game will be live on the Radio Verulam (RV) Football Podcast, kick off 3.00pm, however there will no doubt be a healthy crowd at Cotlandswick thanks to Jack Metcalfe's men keeping the score respectable last week at the Recreation Ground:

The same scoreline as last week so Colney Heath lift the Colney Cup, or rather the Dave Brock Trophy, 4-2 on aggregate, hopefully some photographs and a report to follow later as well as a mention on tomorrow's BBC Three Counties Radio Non League Show with Ollie Bayliss.

A team sheet from Ampthill Town v London Colney in a 2009/10 SSML Division One encounter at Ampthill Park on Tuesday 11 August 2009, London Colney won 7-0 with goals from Frankie Jowell, Garry Simmonds, a brace from Russell Gallagher and a hat trick from David Parkinson who wasn't on the team sheet for some strange reason:

A good 3-1 win for Jack Metcalfe's men at Essex Senior League Sawbridgeworth Town on Tuesday evening (27 July), a groundhopper was in attendance. Crofters End has always been 'ramshackle' hasn't it:

I reffed here once, so not a new ground.
Best described as ramshackle, and really needs a bit of a clean up. We arrive to fine six officials have turned up and there is a bit of a row going on. The eventual referee states he is the best referee here. After watching him, I know, he wasn't.
London Colney doninate the first half and go in 3 up at half time, the first a great finish. Its just a case of many. However second half was truly dreadful. Sawbridgeworth made some subs and improved but the ball was like a hot potato. Sawbo scored a good goal at the death.

A nice article on London Colney supremo Jack Metcalfe in the Herts Advertiser today ahead of the new SSML Premier Division campaign:

Kick-off 2021: London Colney in 'a good place' says Metcalfe | Herts Advertiser

"The togetherness is there both on and off the pitch."

I wonder what is going on at Cotlandswick as London Colney's fixture next Tuesday (12 April) with Holmer Green has been switched to the Recreation Ground at their neighbours Colney Heath, perhaps Karen could reliably inform us why:

Our game on Tuesday 12th April is a 7.45 ko v Holmer Green FC, has been switched, and will now be played at Colney Heath Football Club , The Recreation Ground, High St, Colney Heath, Hertfordshire AL4 0NP. HUGE thanks to our neighbours up the road for hosting the match, we might retain a little bit of home ish advantage. COME ON YOU BLUES!!!!!!
