Hashtag 0 Hornchurch 3

Recommended Posts

Better than Friday, more passing on show today. Hashtag had their chances but Hornchurch were always the better side. Think George played well, got some decent crosses in. Not sure what their No 5 was thinking, both those yellow cards were avoidable. Oh well, I’m not complaining! Glad to see Ade back. Overall very pleased, shame that Chatham and ‘Rickay got late winners but if we keep taking care of our results then it doesn’t matter. Welcome to 2024! COYU

hmm what a great start to the New year, still with many injured and it seems we may have more injured after today's game.  First 20 mins seemed to be all #, until Sean came on to replace Ollie and we changed things around in the midfield. More settled and started to press #, which brought a number of bookings to their back line. Second half similar vein and then the inevitable ill discipline led to a second yellow and red for Haysom. Change of formation and the introduction of Femi and our change and pressure paid off 3 goals in 30 so minutes and a well deserved start to the New year. Well done to all involved.

Happy new year!

A big win that! First Half I thought we were slightly the better team but our decision making in the final third was poor, we looked very dangerous in transition when we won the ball off them and got into good positions but the final pass kept letting us down. Then they had a couple of moments where we looked in danger but Scott defended both situations brilliantly. Second Half, the red card obviously helped us massively but we still had to break them down and thankfully we did. That’s not an easy place to go and we don’t have the best record at that ground . The CBs have been brilliant this year and when you can defend, you just need to hope that one of your attackers can find a goal from somewhere - or in this instance Scott 🤣. No surprise that Chatham and Ricay Won, good teams always find a way - Chatham seem to love a 90th min goal but that’s what pressure does, we can only focus on ourselves and do our own job. Still think we need to improve in our attacking play but to get to 50 points by the halfway stage is exactly where we want to be. Let’s back it up on Saturday against Horsham which will be another tough game.

That’s how I saw it - For me. Ryan Scott is currently our player of the season

The injured player roster just seems to keep growing - and primarily in defence.
By my reckoning it is 1 goalkeeper, 2 centre backs, 3 left backs, 1 right back and a central midfielder.

Several players seem to be back in training so fingers crossed they will soon be available for games.
