Towners v The Gulls (1-4)

We should be throwing money at Femi - or whatever money we have to throw at him. We need goals and he scores goals - but I’d imagine he’s got a couple good few offers

They could come all complacent and come unstuck....ever hopeful. Maybe we could get Femi in

The 18min pre-match interview with their manager is quick to dismiss any complacency...unfortunately.

Femi might be a decent signing - but he'd have to form a front a 2 - Ruben or Jake.

I think we can probably get better value for money elsewhere. He'll probably head to Billericay/Chatham/Dulwich...etc

Agree to be honest, I can see Ricay.

I would imagine we are still trying to make a big signing upfront and it’s not really coming together at all for us whether that’s contract issues or genuinely the lack of strikers on the market though. Like Gavin keeps saying, he is trying in the transfer market so we just have to hope something comes good. Maybe something will get announced tomorrow, haven’t had a signing in a couple of weeks and they like to announce signings on the Friday before a game!

You're probably right, Ricay would be on him. Hope we get our striker soon though 🤞

Listening to Torquay pre match interview it seems they will still play 2 up front against us and I think we should do the same. They are too dangerous to sit back and try to absorb their pressure as it will be relentless and result inevitably in goals. I think we need to go all out for the win and if we lose we lose but will have given it a go. Points are what we need and getting to the point of needing to throw caution to the wind. Nice to hear Torquay being very complimentary about Gav too, more than just an expected courtesy, so hopefully some can get behind him a bit more as he's not as bad as they think! COYT let's get firing.

Like Towningaround did on another thread, I’ll do a lineup on what I would like to see tomorrow/in the future.

You can put Peake and Leonard on either side, I think they switched around on Tuesday, but I think Peake and Dylan played really well together against Dorking. Enough energy in midfield with Tuck/Scott that I don’t think we’ll lose many midfield battles, or if we do then we should bring another body in midfield like Dylan

I imagine we still will be playing a back five with a side like Torquay coming along, but I think this formation suits our players the best. I know we’ve got a few hard away games coming up, but I’d love to see this against Sittingbourne and see how well it works.

I know some people want a 2 striker setup but I feel like Peake/Youngy is more then enough capable to play as a second striker and bringing ball to feet or playing off whoever is starting upfront.

I’m all ears for any players getting put in etc Parcell instead of Dylan, Smudger, RBR, Shakpoke but after experimenting with a few formations I really like this for a whole team fit.

Parcell more of a natural right back for me, and Cox I think needs to play on the left, as he's left footed(?)... don't disagree with much of the rest, although I've not seen Whittaker (or Shakpoke) play yet, so can't comment.

Yeah parcell definitely more of a natural at right back then Dylan, just think he played great at Dorking so I think he is warranted another start if hes fit and ready for tomorrow.

Cox/Benjamin are definitely interchangeable, but as Cox is the taller one I think him and Thompson are amazing in the middle together.
