What a result, what a game, what a team performance!!!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/excited.gif" alt="" />

 

I don't think anyone could fault anyone for effort, application and performance today. From the first kick until the final whistle the boys showed what they can do against teams that WANT to play football...Not the shower of [****!!****] we have to play in our league.

 

It was the best performance of the season so far.

 

Well done to everyone and COME ON YOU BLUES!!!

Good game, good game.... Anybody know the last time we beat a team from a higher division in a serious game?

 

Thought we we did well today. Still missing Hockers' cutting edge up front, but the midfield can't stop scoring at present. Well taken goal from Hunter, who came on as a sub after being rested having picked up a knock. Both keepers had a few saves to make, but Goths looked solid. My motm was Trotty who looked somewhere near his best with an excellent display at the back.

Hunter and Sappers both on bench, resting knocks. Game went off at half time after jarring his knee.

We played well yesterday and I thought deserved our win against a team sitting well placed in Conf South. Agree Trotty had his best game for a while but my MOM was Danny Kerrigan who I thought had his best game since returning to the club. Another £1800 into the kitty too, the cup runs have hopefully paid for a few bricks in the clubhouse. The lads confidence must have been boosted. Roll on Saturday...who knows?.......

The times Ricay have struggled this year have been when teams come to us with the intention of killing the game and not letting us play.

 

When we have a chance against a team like Bognor who play decent football then the class shows through compared to most teams in the ryman league.

 

On Saturday Stevenage will come to New Lodge thinking they will be able to play us off the park cos of being in the Conference. If we play like we can and are up for it then I think they'll be surprised just like Bognor were.

Totally agree with that - we've struggled against teams that play "filth football" like Harrow and Boretree, whereas where teams have tried to play "the beautiful game" we've done well, and had entertaining games!

 

Our midfielders can't stop scoring at the moment, all we've got to do is get Bertie and Cousins/Wareham/Stowe scoring again....

One of those occasions when we agree. One of the best, if not THE best, displays this season. Nice ground, excellent surface, accompanied by some fine football. Should be a great confidence boost for the Stevenage game, and the run up to the Xmas period league campaign.

Can only add to all the above - Yes, in my opinion it was "our" best footballing performance of the whole season...It is a lovely playing surface at Bognor, but you have to say that we totally dominated the game...(and that is not a bias view) - More of the same on Saturday and we will give Stevenage a good game...Now for the lighter note..What on earth were the Pompey Chavs doing there !! - And what is it with these types.. Always resort to the "we'll cut your throat" comments...Don't ya just luv 'em !! Bless.
