Great to see the ref's ploy of 'next goal wins' backfire. I though he looked a bit foolish whaen we added the second. And he didn't have the bottle the award the Bas 8 an early bath, after some of the best 'speed fouling' we have seen this year. On a yellow card and about 4 bad tackles in 90 seconds at five o'clock should have warranted more.

Speaking of which, is it true that The Don's reserve team manager Tony Mac is going back to Bowers. I heard he went to watch their ressies at Maldon Town on saturday. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shrug.gif" alt="" />

[color:"blue"]Perhaps it's the attraction of managing a team in a league of 17 teams (Essex & Herts Border), including the likes of Canvey Island Res, Grays Athletic Res etc, instead of a Mickey Mouse Reserve league with 6 teams in it.

No disrespect to the 6 teams themselves, but that's not enough games. Also, I'm led to believe it's something TMc is keen to consider, as opposed to Bowers & Pitsea pursuing him. [/color]

I'm sure Tony Mac is happy being Top of his League and not managing a Club at the E/Herts. Lets put this romour to bed Tony Mac is staying at BUFC, I understand that their is relegation in the E/Herts this season, so don't speak to badly about the E/Senior Reserve Section as you may be their yourselfs next season and Tony may be in the E/Herts League next season. (Look at the big picture and not the small picture!!).

You may be right on both counts, Tony may well stay at Bas utd and B&P may well end up in the ESL Res League. That doesn't make my point any less valid. It must surely be better to manage a team in a bigger league with better quality opposition, whether it's with Bas Utd or Bowers & Pitsea.
