get a life will yer your just a fan, you cant talk about committment like players can. They have to be there and when they aint getting paid they can express there opinions too.......your just a person who wants whats best for fans and not clubs by the look of it. If the league said games on then the club has to deal with it, of course everyone at your club would be singing and dancing ...........bore off

Clubs like playing on NYD because the games are genarally local derbies, with bigger crowds & therefor added revenue. Players don't like it because it mucks up their Christmas, which at our level is a dam sight more important than in steps 1-4 where the players are paid.
As a fan I don't like it either, I'd much rather stay at home at Christmas.

did you not see beardsley after the game come on to the pitch it was like watching david pleat in that FA CUP final all over again.
BEARDSLEY must have told me west ham were losing to brighton about 20 times during the second half he then told me the 50-50 draw number and that was the wrong number and then in the bar it was west ham lost another 10 times even when I was having a pee he still came in and told me west ham had lost .That'll teach me to mention the spurs result to him when I came in the ground.

Back to the game.

The giant of a man, Rudi Hall, outjumping the goalkeeper to head the ball into an open net! Brilliant stuff. Remindes me of 1986 and Maradonna without the use of the 'hand of god'.

I was reminded of Enfield v Hemel Hempstead in the FA Cup a few years ago when John Bailey scored a hat-trick of headers. Unfortunately Rudi couldn't emulate that.

BTW, I thought the referee made some strange decisions in the game and we got quite a large proportion of them in our favour, which seems to show that Basildon had a lot more of the game than the scoreline shows. I don't think we were playing anywhere near our best until Dean Nyman came on. Lee Smith was unlucky not to get a goal for his persistence and Chopper was outstanding.
