New Signings

Recommended Posts

Kevin Stephens is a Defender i beleive once of Leyton Orient and was on loan to us in the early part of last season but got injured at Braintree after only a couple of games.

Nathan Elder is a Striker who I think did score against us in pre-season at Redbridge and think comes to us from Aveley.

Welcome both players to New Lodge and wish them well in helping the Blues move up the league.

Elder seems to have been doing well so far this season at Aveley, started slowly but got ten goals since then. Looks like a good signing and could be useful up front. Think we shouldnt change for the moment though as the last few games have been cracking.

I think Stephens is more of a centre back/right back. I think Trotty and Pat have both been playing with injuries and with Macca not having missed a minute yet (bar ESC) Kevin will provide us with a bit more cover there. As was mentioned we had him on loan from Orient a couple of years back but he got injured early on so his loan spell ended rather swiftly.

Elder is a striker and has been banging in the goals regularly for Aveley this season, having netted 10 times. Hopefully his eye for goal will continue with us. He did get a number at Redbridge at the start of the season but never kicked a ball for them. Might explain the "slow start" at Aveley

Not sure whether either played cup tied for Trophy but expect so.

Welcome aboard chaps...

looks like he's already getting his fair share of goals at 19 and if he wants it he can only get better. ricay is the perfect place to do that at the moment with the squad looking strong. I did think we would need someone who could replace heroo out on the right but midfield has been our strength lately so theres no rush to get someone in. Im sure justin has it covered!

Errrrrrr last season was hardly a couple of years ago

Keith Stephens played 3 games on loan (Win v Kettering, defeat to Harrow and draw with Boretree in which he picked up an injury)

He played for Redbridge in this season's FA Trophy against Dartford ( Report at <a href="http://www.Re...RedbridgeFC.com so is definately cup tied.

Don't know much about Nathan Elder, believe he had a spell at Hornchurch a few seasons ago (may have been a youth team product?) and spent the last season and 1/2 at Aveley scoring plenty of goals - something like 17 last season in all competitions.

Spoke to Justin yesterday for his programme bit and he was very positive about the new signings. Read all about it on Saturday in "The Town Crier"
