What a disgraceful performance from a team who are supposedly going to thrash this league. A complete and utter shambles.

 

They tried to bully the ref throughout the entire game, especially when things started going against them - and then they started diving, and fouling every Burnham player in sight.

 

Not so big now, eh.

I've no desire to laugh at Abbey as I think they are a credit to the ESL, but I would like to see some of the regular Abbey posters come on here and be gracious about their opponents.

 

Abbeynut and I swapped a few comments about what affect the pitch condition might have on the game, I'd be interested to know if it played a part in the result.

Ah just remembered........both linesmen said after...didnt the pitch play well!!! Shock horror and god forbid.

 

I don't think anyone was concerned about the pitch, just how poor we performed and how much Burnham have improved. To be fair at 3-1 we had two chances that should have been converted that would have put us back in it. We were always chasing. At 3-2 a comeback looked likely but we lacked concentration at a free kick and Shave took advantage to restore the two goal lead. It was on the cards really after a poor performance in our last home game and last week at Sports.

 

Has anyone mentioned how the Abbey fans applauded Ramblers off the pitch? Thought not.

the pitch played its part in the fact we were on it, thats it. why would we mention the pitch, burnham were the better team.

yeah townies we are cheats, we dive we do everything, god the way you are going on anyone would think you had slipped down to third in the table....

 

sorry to most town fans who are decent enough people but some of the things some of these clown are saying is disrespectful. come on here and tell us how much better burnham were than us, we know that, we can take that! but cut the other rubbish out.

I'm off to the Con Club for the xmas raffle, what a life I lead! Fancy a jar pin thats where I'll be. Sounds like you thought I was having a pop Pin, I wasn't. I was aware that when I made my comment that most of you guys were still in the bar or on your way home. What I said was I would like to see you guys come on and be magnanimous, which you have. It makes a refreshing change, others take note.

For what it's worth I still think you'll win it.

i love seeing what abbey say when they lose. they're all respectful cos they think that way they're being respectful and nobody has a pop at them. No mate, if you dump on a team when you win then you have to take it from them when you lose. we will get it in the neck in much the same way if we play like the last week and this is just your payback time for all the smartarse comments.

firstly its only happened the once so you must really love it.

so what you would rather us make excuses? by being honest i dont expect to get no stick, i expect more in fact, i have said that the best team on the day won. saturday was your day, you will no doubt have others as will we. you beat the only unbeaten team in the league convincingly, if it was the other way round i would be giving it plenty. the thing is we can accept it.

the league table does not lie.

I was in Burnham today and, as is usual, we bought the local paper. Are you sure you are going to win the league. I note what the Burnham manager had to say about your game against Hullbridge last week. Hullbridge are 15th.

 

"I would love it if we could get an early Christmas present by taking three points away from them."

 

"I think it's possible as they only just shaved a 2-1 win at Hullbridge, who are bottom, last week".

 

Hey dot com bet you didn't gloat at the Burnham fans as you did at us a fortnight ago. Pinnacle if you want respect you should not have given it large with your mates after dot com's goal.
