Thats why we got to let the people of canvey we are still here and we want there support

There's a lot of people who didn't know we existed in the first place.
We've never had any advertising of any quantity or quality, so it'll be interesting to see if things change. If they do, we might pull decent crowds. But we can't expect people to turn up unless they know about us.

I want to know how we're gonna fit all you pi$$ heads in our bar when you come down.
Think we should segregate you lot (you especially) and put you in the away bar (its down by the portaloos in case you didn't know where it was situated)

Fair do's - he must owe me a drink though. He sang nasty songs about Canvey at the Hx v Manor game lol.
We could stick him next to the drums!!

you are just in the song,it is mainly about hating dagenham, the name canvey island just fits into it nicely, tilbury wouldn't have the same ring!!!

Seven-hundred?! I hope I eat these words, but I really think you're having a laugh. Sorry.

This kind of makes me indecisive with the Tottenham friendly. Five days after the Yids grace Park Lane we kick off our league campaign.

If they bring a strong team down we might get the odd extra couple of fans wanting to see the 'big-boys' in the flesh. However if they bring down a young side and we give a good account of ourselves it may help the morale of the crowd, knowing that if we can hold our own against the best up and comers at Tottenham, we can easily compete in the Ryman 1 North.

The other friendlies are going to be really competitive. Biggleswade, Sevenoaks, Slade Green are all gonna be games we can really prove our worth in and the Billericay and Carshalton games are going to be really tough. Especially as Billericay is the opener, unless we know who is going to make up the backbone of our new squad we won't really know what to expect on the field against top Ryman Premier opposition.

Really hope our first league game on 19th August is at home. New Squad, new Captain and hopefully new fans too!

we had west ham down last year and they bought their ressies down, mostly youth and there was about 1000 in the ground, had there been first team players and west ham would of annouced that they were playing at hornchurch the crowd would of probably gone up to over 2000

we used to play them and arsenal in friendlies 15-20 years ago and the place was always packed

No I don't expect them to bring any first team players down seeing as they kick off their new season the same time as us. However that's not to say they won't be bringing down a strong squad, i.e. more than just their U18's.

They are playing several teams of a similar level to us around that same time so I would expect it to be some experimental football with their Reserves.

You don't honestly think Spurs will bring any first-team players down, do you? We'll get their youth team. They'll probably be playing another team that day with their real team. Just like Charlton last year.

Ribbit are you having a bad day? You seem to be on a downer today

I don`t expect Spurs to bring their first team to Park Lane but i would have thought they will play a couple of fringe players as Charlton did last season. Personally i hope Dean Marney plays (if he`s not sold by then) just to add a bit of local interest.
