It is but I heard most of the vote took place at the semis and during half time yesterday, so most votes were made before the incident.

Zidane beat Cannavaro by about 2000 votes to 1900 and the vote was made before the second half of the final.

In my opinion it should have been Cannavaro even before the now infamous headbut, Cannavaro had been supreme through the hole world cup, from Ghana to France he was superb he didnt put a foot wrong and led the team with his stunning performances in the Azzurri's defence.

 

It is a shame that Zidane has ended his carrer like this he had been reborn until he let Materazzi get the better of him, Materazzi is known as a bit of a thug and no doubt deserved to get chined but Zizou should have kept his cool.
