Work on the Northfleet End

The works on the Northfleet end of the ground are provisionally expected to start in a fortnight’s time, with the initial enabling work being started. Once this is completed, the stand will be erected, and this will start no later than the end of June.

Has anyone got any news on this?

Here you go:

Progress towards refurbished Northfleet Stand at Stonebridge Road

Gravesend & Northfleet FC are able to update all parties that works are finally due to commence in early August. We have now received firm confirmation from the Football Stadium Improvement Fund that all costs and suppliers have been approved and the project can commence without further delay. The chosen supplier of the seating (Slick Seating Systems Ltd of Redditch, Worcs) has been informed and the order and deposit for the supply and installation of 558 seats has been placed. Some of the preliminary civil works will start imminently and once the seating has arrived on site we will be in a better position to advise supporters as to which home game the new stand is to be formally opened.

amazing how you get info from the web site isnt it...lol

I just got the email from the club minutes ago. As FF said on another thread, Dave does have a day job and updating the website is probably an evening affair for anyone who has to do their employers' work 9-5!!

I think the sight of 20 or so people standing behind the goal at the Northfleet end must be a big negative for the players. When there used to be a good crowd behind that goal, I am sure that it benefited the team. Not sure what effect the seats will have ( apart from that some people will be sitting down ...ha !).....but at least there will be a bigger presence that end ( hopefully !).

I will continue to stand as I am sure that the seats installed will not cater for the "fuller" figure ! Now, if the club were to install all weather sofas, with waitress service for beers.....

Cheers,

I mean truthfully how many of the concerned are actually going to pay extra to sit in these seats? By the way this is not a dig but an honest question.

There is going to be any additional charge for the seats behind the goal.

Judging by the way the sentence is structured, did you mean to say 'There isn't'?

Bad luck, Busta. The club have just released this photo of the first season-ticket holders for the seats:

I'm with you on that Hirsty.........But then again, i think the negativity started when you weren't allowed to change ends at half-time! But then again...........We are old farts who used to enjoy Football, drinking with opposing fans, rather than fighting with them!
