There seems to be a good buzz around the squad now, and perhaps if he buys into that it may endear him to the club.

However good or not he may be I want to see someone on the pitch who is proud of the shirt, and does not just want to use it for a showcase to get a better offer.

My jury is out on Pat at the moment, but I am sure I could grow to love him if he showed us that pride and did not flit.

I really like his long throw.

I think with the trust Trotty has put in him & the persistent chasing of the player, should he leave now Trotty would be the one that would be gutted the most.I reckon this time Sappleton will stay put. He should be honoured that he was & is held in such high regard by Trotty. For these reasons I reckon he will repay Trotty for his support & consistent(despite previous let downs)support for him. If he dosent then he really is a "-------".

I think he will stay this time, repay Trotty in the biggest way & play a big big part in getting us promoted.

I had the same feelings as you June about his "bungy" jumping (just my little joke there)& his previous attitude but I cant believe he would do the dirty on us & especially Trotty for a third time.

As for his talents I agree his kicking needs sharpening up as was mentioned above & he must hold back when facing hostility but without losing that aggressive approach on the footballing side of things but the plus points are his heading ability, his desire to win the ball & his good positioning sense & again as mentioned above his long throw..A further string to OUR bow now.The long throw has proved extremely beneficial to teams like Ramsgate & Dover. These clubs certainly wouldnt be in the positions they are now without that weapon.

Dont pencil him in for Tuesday use the biro.

If he were to leave now he would be letting me down as well as Trotty,as well as you lot out there.

No,I reckon we now have that central defender we have all been after all season, at long last.

Dont let us down now Pat!!!!!!!!!!!!

hope your right Cookie , would be a great addition to the squad , Trotty must really think alot of Pat for the time he`s taken to get him here . Hopefully after saturdays match Pat can see that the squad has got a lot to offer and 1st team footy would be a must for him which could be the clincher if he was to put pen to paper on a deal.

I think PS shold take a leaf out of Sam Sodge's book.

Sam went off tarting himself about a couple of times, looking to improve himself.

CK and the Margate fans showed we loved him.

He came back, gave it his all for a completeseason.

Got himself properly and regularly watched by Brentford and others, whilst consistently performing for the 'Gate and the rest is history.

Maybe PS emulate him and hope he does; as all then gain.

I have to say personally that whilst PS is obviously a very very capable player, i'm not sure he is quite as good as one excellent Crawley game suggested he may be.

Aswell as his long throw, another benefit from PS could well be a marked improvement in R Trotts own form.

They obviously play well together, and i thought Trott had his best on field game for ages on saturday.

A real hidden bonus of PS signing, could be that RT himself does a lot lot better,so double benefit here.

Agree MM. Pat and Trotty certainly look to compliment each other well and its obvious they are familiar with each others games. Pat has been all over the place for a few months now and it would be good for his game to settle down, have a good season for us and learn more from playing alongside some very experienced players.

We looked far better at the back with Sappleton back and would love to see him stay, but his comitment to our club is another question <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />.
