Well,Trotty got his game plan spot on tonight. He knew their strengths & weaknesses(every team has one). All but for a short while within the 90 minutes the defence were stifling their attacks with ease. The back line were slightly more forward than usual & this prevented Bromley from making those long forward attacking runs that have so far been extremely profitable to them. Their forward advancing forrays came to nothing for most part & that was because the defence & midfield halted those runs before any real damage could be done. They stood up to the advances instead of retreating & it worked wonders.

Bromley of course got through a few times but on the whole they were prevented from playing the way they normally do.Because the players did their job so well Bromley had no plan B.

All players played superbly well tonight. They got back when needed & pushed forward at every opportunity.Great finishing too but above all they worked their socks off.Believe it too there was some fine entertaining football amongst all this as well.

At long last,as in the previous 3 games the right attitude has been applied the right tactics too & the workrate was stupendous.

Pity about their goal but that can be spoken of in another thread I think.

Bravo tonight MARGATE players. The gaffer needs congratulating too for getting this fine bunch of players now playing together with good attitude & for at last showing their talents off on a regular basis. Long may it continue.Well done everyone!

MAGIC, sheer MAGIC!

Agree again;and th same as RT got his tactics right(and the players and midfield carried out the instructions superbly), i though Goldberg made a big error in not playing Kirk Watts from the start as he tormented us at HDP ,and did so again for first 25 mins. of second half when he came on last night.

Smith did well to get a grip on him after a very uneasy 25 minutes at start of second half

We dominated the midfield. Bromley like to play a passing game and, on their day, they are no doubt a good side. However, they didn't have a ball-winner in midfield. This meant Protheroe and McKimm dictated in the middle of the park.

Apart from a few minutes in the first half, Bromley never had a sustained period of pressure.

Seems harsh to criticise Goldberg given last night was Bromley's first league defeat, but at 2-0 down at half-time he failed to pull something out of the hat. Maybe his lack of management experience showed.

All has been said by Cookie,MM and Coffin Ender re the game, completely agree was absolute fantastic, apart from a spell after they got their goal but, hey, they were league leaders and hadn't even dropped a point at home so that was to be expected. Great feelings on the coach home last night too. I would also like to praise the choir, how those lads make so much noise for such a few of them is superb, well done lads

No internet, nowhere near Bromley but was chuffed to bits seeing the half time score on Sky Sports News! Even the mighty reds were having a good game then last ten minutes all gone to hell!! Oh well, made up by the fact that we have taken the previous league leaders 100% record away and are well positioned for play off or possibly, dare I say it, automatic pro****on???? (don't want to jinx it!!)

Amazing performance. The work rate, skill, passion was there in abundance and that was one of the all time great Margate performances. Great goals and cool heads at the right times. Loved the celebrations too. Just fantastic lads. Brilliant. As has been said already on the forum it was pure HEAVEN. Well done to every single one of the team and the great Gate supporters for making last night a GREAT night

The performance was great and the result was superb.

The only maddening thing is that we were one point behind the leaders before the game, we win away at the league leaders by playing a blinder and we are (1) still only 4th and (2) still behind the Rams!

To use a phrase that is a bit foreign to me "Christmas hasn't come early", yet!

Abdullah the Joseba!
