I don't think that punishment has been dished out before, the team ussually only receives a points deduction and other teams don't gain points from it, as you don't know if they would have won, drawn or lost had Darlington not been playing and it would take forever and a day to sort out.

They must feel absolutely gutted, I feel sorry for them.

I also feel sorry for the person that made the error, they for sure did not mean to do it, but will have to live with the knowledge of what the consequences are.

It is a rotten thing when goings on off the pitch can adversely affect the football on it. We all know all about that.

It is ridiculous that a player can play in the same league system but need clearance to play for a different club as they are under different Football Associations.

I heard that any punishment would be for the latest game they played ONLY & therefore the league games played prior to that & points gained would not be affected.Word was that the authorities in question only take the last game into account.Now whether that covers the Ryman league is another question altogether. Thats just what I heard mind & it could be wrong.

I cant see them having the league points deducted somehow to be honest & i.m.o. More likely the club will get a stiff fine only as they have already incurred a stiff punishment. Again all i.m.o.& all from what I heard on the grapevine!

With it being under Ryman league rules this time, I guess a precedent for the future will be made when the decision is made by the league.

It does seem harsh on the players that something off the pitch will affect them, but then it is the same for all clubs.
