Superb performance.
i thought today was the day we would lose before the match.
but my god the players and manager proved me wrong. i can't see us losing for a while.
We are the Conference Arsenal. (nearly)

Superb performance.

Loan signing Jefferson looked very much the part & several candidates for MoM.

Even the ref was excellent, allowing advantage & keeping the game flowing.

Well done all the team. Excellent performance. Fine passing game. Solid at the back. It could easily have been 7-0.

yes totally agree the ref was fantatic. let play continue if good adventage. spoke to the players well. told them what they had done wrong in a foul. the best ref i have seen down there in a long, long, long while.

Andy even said how much he thought of the ref- "excellent ref" was the phrase he used - he said he was the same one that reffed our cup games against Exeter last year.

The linos were top rate too, kept the flags raised for both teams when necesary, and didn't bottle any decisions.
It's a pity more refs are not like today's; less bookings and sendings off, better games, more sporting bigger crowds etc, etc,

Well, after the first five minutes or so I thought we were in trouble, with those two excellent York chances that just flashed across the face of our goal. In the end, Wilko didn't have a strenuous save to make, Jefferson's goal was really well taken, and it just all seemed too easy against a side only just relegated from the league - as demonstrated by the the last twenty minutes, which felt like an exhibition match.

I think the fact that I only noticed two out of all of the York fans applaud their side at the end says it all.

We all had a pop at the referee at Canvey last week, now let`s all congratulate Mr.Desmond on a really good match.Intelligent refereeing is something we don`t see much of at Stonebridge Rd.I must also say that our midfield was excellent today and won the match for us with their battling display, the only gripe I`ve got,is that our attack seemed too far apart at times, and Roy and Jefferson`s flick on`s were not going to a player running on.Also,Chrissie Moore`s distribution is a bit iffy at the moment.Lee Protheroe to start at Forest Green and the unbeaten run continues!God Bless you Fleet,I love you to death!

It almost behoves me to say it, but Porter is an outstanding centre half alongside Moore, very cal and assured with excellent distribution. And what a tiger Saunders is, wins everthing, and seems to be everywhere in midfield.
Have to give the team 9/10 for the performance. (would have been 10 but York were absolutely abject).

What a first class referee. Showed how to keep control of a game without the use of yellow cards, that it's not difficult to earn the respect of the players and fans as a result and really contribute to making an enjoyable game.

Can someone get a copy of the match video sent to Mr Deadman and suggests he looks and learns.

Mr Desmond - come back any time!!

I had us down for a draw in our Prediction League yesterday. York City, recently League, fighting their way back up to the League, full-time club with something to prove. Us on a roll, and at the time unbeaten in fifteen. What we got was the worst full-time team to ever play at Stonebridge Road. No fight, no cohesion and no idea. Just like us this time last year. So, to all you York City fans, it may seem that you're about to plummet through the levels of non-league football, ending up who knows where, but take heart, it will get better. Last September I was one of the fans who thought Andy had lost the plot, but humble pie has never tasted so good. Stick with it City it will take time. Stay loyal, stay true, stay red and blue.

As for us, a good solid performance, everyone doing their job and no one to find fault with, not even the ref. Welcome to Jefferson Louis, what a great start, lets hope we can make it a permanent move. 9/10

See you all at The Lawn.

Hopefully we could sign Jefferson Louis on a permenant deal, as from what i read in the NLP it sounded like he didn't mind playing for us!
Also i noticed he said we could do well this season, which implying that he wants to be here when we are!! (i hope any way)

Up Da Fleet!!!

Thoroughly agree CG. Perhaps Mr. Moules can arrange for a certain other referee to sit and take notes from Mr. Desmond.
