Well since you guessed the result it wasn't worth going was it.

A very informative meeting and the club, both on and off the pitch, seems to be progressing to a level where most of us want to be.

You have to remind yourself sometimes that 7 years ago there was not an Enfield Town FC and from scratch we have become a force to be reckoned with on the pitch and on the local political scene.

Altogether a very optimistic meeting. You should feel gutted you were not able to attend.

I ask this question every year. Some members have very kindly PMd me a brief account of the meeting, but never have Minutes been formally issued.

Are we really where we want to be both on and off the pitch? I would have thought we were fairly close but not there: we would like to be a division higher or at least seriously challenging (clearly we are not from what I saw on Saturday). We would have wanted to be looking for a ground of our own, which is obviously a long term ambition but is equally obvioulsy not going to happen. Are we really a force to be reckoned with on th epolitical scene? I'd be interested to learn what leads to this impression.

I'd be very interested to hear about the report on the playing side.

I'd be interested to hear any reponse from anyone who was at the AGM.For whatever reasons, many fans never made the meeting last night.I'm sure they are very keen to find out the gist of what happened, but once again no one who was there seems willing to talk about what was said. Why is that? I can understand the board keeping things close to their chests, but i'm surprised our regular forum users are also being very guarded.

Fair enough, keep back stuff that could damage the club if put in the public domain, but i'm sure at least 80% of what went on last night could be safely talked about.I would expect a wall of silence from the old EFC,but not from Town.Wasn't that one of our gripes when we set up the new club?

I'm sure i would get a PM from several members if i asked them, but i feel that all fans should be brought up to date on here, not just those requesting PM's.

Cheers!

Apart from the fact that we were informed the club made a financial loss last year, the results of the election etc we were not told anything last night but it was a very successful meeting.

BTW if you see Andy he will enrol you for the Enfield Leisure Trust at special corporate rates. Please go and see him he needs the money.

Steph - Hook line (ladder) and sinker comes to mind!

You obviously were impressed last night but are going to play mums the word as we are all told to do each year at the AGM! You have a Board of politicians and they do it every year! Secrecy is the way they prefer things! Sometimes it is justified ie the prize is worth the secrecy other occasions it is smoke and mirrors. Time will tell!

Steph, we may be 6th now but other clubs have games in hand. I admit I am judging the team on one game and second hand reports of others but I really cannot see us making the play-offs: if we did we stand little chance of winning them.

Regarding secrecy, of course a full and frank account of the meeting cannot be put on the public forum, I do not suggest that for a moment. I am however a fully paid up member of the society, i.e. a part owner of the club, and I cannot see why non-attendance at the AGM should deny me or anyone else acees to the information that our board is duty bound to impart to its members/electorate. What's wrong with a reasonably prompt set of minutes being posted to members? Or e-mailed if preferred? There is no greater threat to confidentiality than that posed by members present at the AGM (unless the discs are sent by government courier....). In fact it would be more secure, as any member who might kindly like to PM me (or others) with the gist does not strictly konow for certain that I am a member!

It is unlikely that minutes would give much more information than I am imparting. There was really nothing said. The joint lease was signed with Brimsdown Rovers we now own 50% of the ground which gives us more money making facilities. We are already taking advantage of that.

The club will be open on Thursday evenings after training so that members can speak to players, board and management.

A new facility will be developed in the area of the board room to provide an entertainment area for match days, sponsers and youngsters.

Middlesex university have signed a pitch deal.

The council are writing to the people who have stolen our land to the Carterhatch side.

School tickets are being given out.

We have a partnership agreement with spurs that when performing community events they will publicise us and vice versa.

Obviously none of the above is official but is my recollection of what went on.

There really was nothing else officially said about anything.

There was a report from Jim about the team. He answered questions truthfully and what he said made a lot of sense. I dont think that I have the ability to question his judgement after last night as he seems to see the same things as me. I am not so judgemental about some of the things we both see but am more judgemental about others.

It is only when promotion is no longer possible will we know who is right.

TIM said that promotion was obviously no longer a possibility and all I am saying is that is nonsense - things dont change after one defeat albeit a massive defeat.
