Kel - Which Hullbridge do you mean?

 

Coach - It is sometimes worth back tracking a bit before making statements that xxx is non-reformed club - you may well find (purely as an example of course) that there were once (not all that long ago) two Hullbridge clubs, one called Hullbridge and one called Hullbridge Utd, the latter playing on the back pitch, which in those days adjoined to the main pitch with no barrier in betweeen.

 

Now I wonder what happened to Hullbridge Utd - did they by chance become absorbed?

 

You may even find that Hullbridge Sports (purely as illustration of course) played in the Essex Inter. Lge from 1984 to 1990, but that in 1996 and 1997 another team, believed previously to have been known as Hullbridge Sports, joined the EIL under the name of Hullbridge Utd who then dropped out just two seasons later, having finished in third place in the league. Rumour has it that this team were absorbed into Hullbridge Sports, who were in the ESL in the two seasons aforementioned.

 

Only asking, only wondering, of course. I am of course not a historian, I leave this up to the experts.
