Yes it looks that way, can they re-build now? As Div 1 will a tough place to get out of. Royston were exceptional this year but with Hadley and possibly 61FC coming from Div 2 who are decent teams and if Hatfield dont go up Div 1 will be very exciting next year.

I thought Wader would have come on by now to gloat unless he's still counting the attendance money. A another member was at the game:

Bilbo - I'm more than happy to acknowledge Welwyn Garden City's achievement of finishing ninth and the work Del and Steve have done at Herns Lane in a short space of time, I take it they will both still be at the Club next season.

About time you paid homage to the Dynamic Duo, Rhodent.

Why don't you come to the Charity 6 a side on Saturday 16th May KO 12 noon. I'm sure you will have a good day out.

More comprehensive report of the final game on our website.

I'm sure we will all be 61FC supporters on Saturday afternoon as a home win against Mursley will see them crowned champions:

Spartan South Midland Division 2
The 61FC(Luton) 2 Pitsone & Ivinghoe 1
programme 50p no adm charge.
att 27.

First venture into Spartan Div.2 and a pretty awful game bearing in mind that The 61FC have now gone top and are a point clear of Hadley with a game left apiece.

Railed-off recreation ground between houses and back of an industrial estate with plenty of people coming and going bypassing the football.

A covered area in one corner with one continuous bench seat along the front seating around 15 but no-one used it!

Large grassy bank on one side had three park bench seats that provided a decent view (and for my aching knees) in the second half.

The 61FC took a first half lead before Pitstone equalised with a decent header from distance from a free-kick.

The homesters took all three points with a winner around the 75mark but i can't really recall much about it as i was losing the will to live.

Oh, prog was ok but you have to be quick to get one as there seemed to only be about 10.

I'm sure AWK will come on to explain, I gather there may be an outside chance The 61 FC can get promotion and if so it would be richly deserved.

Thats a shame really after winning the league. Difficult with the location of your pitch though to have all the elements in place that the grounds need to have for Step 6, and in the current climate (even though I dont know the 61FC finances) would be most difficult to find a new pitch.
