Anyway!

Well I didn't make it down, in fact I had a very boring, sh!t night. It started in Barneys at about 9.30, which was okay because I don't go there much so it was something a bit different. Then I suggested we go to The Horn because there was a AC/DC (or it may have been the Beatles as my brother said) tribute band playing.

So my mate that I was with, Matt, said 'okay, give it a bit longer and we'll go'. So it got to 10 and I said 'Can we go now'. We start to make a move and on the way we see some of his mates, who I don't know and of whom none are attractive, so I don't really want to spend an evening with them.

But anyway, he'd rather listen to a bunch of people he's known for about ten minutes, then me who he's known for 16 years and the moment they say 'let's go to O'neills' (where he goes EVERY SINGLE TIME HE GOES OUT DRINKING) he says 'okay, forget my good friend Chubb's idea of going to a pub which has something a bit more to it then just standing in a room drinking' and we end up in O'neills which I am so bored of, and I made this clear to him.

He says to me 'okay if it's sh!t we'll go to the Horn'. Brillian, there's still hope. But no. We stay in there until 1 am, me surrounded by boring people who do the same thing every weekend, drink the same drink and a bloke who's a 30 year old virgin trying to chat me up. Oh what a night!

That actually sounds like one of my mates except he is worse! He only ever goes to two pubs and goes home at 10pm. I mean what sort of life is that!

Most of my mates are seriously pissed off with him!

Actually he was on telly fairly recently. He and his brother often take part in the Robotwars/Technogames programmes so you can tell what a nerd he actually is!

This guy is 26 and has no life! To be honest your mate Matt is a party animal compared to this bloke!

[****!!****] to language. The way I see it is, I can remember exactly what I had to drink, so I wasn't drunk. I had:

1 JD and coke( single) in Barneys

1 Vodka and orange (O'neills)

1 Vodka and coke

2 double JD and coke

1 WKD blue

Pathetic. But, I can only drink 'properly' if I'm in the right mood, company and place. If I'm not I just can't see the point and last night I was in the wrong mood, with the wrong people and in the wrong place. Hence the rather short list, and the fact I can remember it.

Blimey! Oh by the way, There isn't a WKD Green, I was getting confused with VK green, well that was what my mate said anyway.

Funnily enough I end up more pissed with the wrong people in the wrong place. I've been to so many parties where I've been bored rigid. Unfortunately if my mate is driving he can't drink and I've been so bored with the company (my mate only invites me along because he doesn't really like these people at the party) that I've ended up getting completely slaughtered out of sheer boredom.

If you are at a party/social gathering and you don't know that many people there, you feel better with a drink in your hand. Well it works for me anyway!

I blame George Orwell, I was reading one of his books and it's given me a different outlook on things, it's made me think more deeply about things which is bad. At one point I looked around the room at a load of drunk people and I thought ' Do they know they're acting like idiots? Are they really enjoying themselves or do they just do it because everyone else does it, because that's what you're 'supposed' to do on a saturday night?Do I act like that when I'm pissed, and if so why do I do it? Also, we go out to escape the monotomy of daily life, but isn't it really just another part of the monotomy. I mean we all do the same thing, and in the case of my friend Matt, we do it every weekedn.'

See what I mean? If you want to have a good time, don't read George Orwell. I'm going to have to finish reading it soon, if I ever want to enjoy a night out again!
