Ripley Village 4-0 Frimley Green

- popped down to this one, very pleasant surroundings - crowd about a dozen.

- didn't venture into the clubhouse but another hopper there did and said it was good.

Reportedly chatting to the Ripley Chairman he was told they are planning a completely new pitch & facilities for much higher level football further away from the main road - difficult to see where ambition like this could take them - there seem to be so many small 'village' clubs around locally - still good luck to them.

Missed first goal (bl@@dy traffic in Bracknell roadworks on M3 and slow M25) frown

Frimley had some nice touches but played like strangers - new boys to the Surrey Elite, Ripley, looked good - did the simple things very well, took their chances - keeper in v.good form.

...elsewhere I understand Egham v Burnham was called off - waterlogged?

... haven't seen a score from Bedfont Sports v Tornados

... and former CCLP chaps Bedfont G were beaten 2-1 by Ashford.

WENT TO WATCH THE OTHER SEMI FINAL OF THE DAVID WILSON TROPHY LAST NIGHT BETWEEN CCL'S EPSOM & EWELL vs RYMAN'S LEATHERHEAD.

NOT A BAD GAME WHERE LEATHERHEAD TOOK A 4-1 LEAD INTO HALF TIME. DUE TO LEATHERHEAD'S SUBS MIX UP NOT BEING ROLL ON ROLL OFF, EPSOM GOT BACK TO 4-3 BUT A LATE GOAL FROM LEATHERHEAD SECURED THEIR FINAL PLACE AGAINST THE OTHER SEMI FINALIST MOLESEY FC.

THIS SHOULD BE AN ENTERTAINING GAME HAVING WATCHED BOTH MATCHES/TEAMS, AND A CHANCE TO SEE AGAIN A CCL TEAM CHALLENGE THE FORCE OF A RYMAN TEAM AND ANALYSE THE GULF THERE IS BETWEEN THE TWO LEAGUES.

KICK OFF IS AT 3.30PM SATURDAY 1 AUGUST. THE 3RD & 4TH PLACE MATCH BETWEEN THE LOSING SEMI-FINALISTS EPSOM & EWELL AND BANSTEAD KICKS OFF A FEW HOURS BEFORE AT 11 AM.

SHOULD BE INTERESTING FOR ALL THOSE CONCERNED. MY OPINION IS IF MOLESEY PLAY THE WAY THEY DID IN THE SECOND HALF OF THEIR MATCH AGAINST BANSTEAD, THEY SHOULD BE GOOD OPPOSITION FOR A GOOD LEATHERHESD SET UP.

LOOKING FORWARD TO IT, SEE YOU THERE
