Ian,

Now I have got used to it, I think the new site is great - well done to Santa and his little helpers! (Not that Gary is little - but he's bigger than me, which isn't difficult!)

I have started having one problem which started yesterday. I opened up the Slough Forum , read a message and hit Back on the IE BAr and was taken back to the view of the Forum about three days ago. If I hit refresh it corrects it, but Back again takes me to three days ago.

Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong - have not got set up properly?

Thanks.

Usually the problem is created by using the back button in IE.

In order for the cookies to work, and for the site to keep track of read posts etc., you should always use the internal navigation.

I know it is often quicker to hit back, but it can cause issues on many sites.

Having said that often the back button use, will not cause an issue, but depending upon the circumstances it may, especially as your PC will keep local caches copies of the site. Try using File/Work Offline and you will be able to view quite a lot by just using the version on your PC.

So my guess here in your situation, IE displayed a cached version of the page, when you hit back, and when you refreshed it pulled it from the site.

Hopefully that helps.

One thing which I am experiencing (probably the only one as well!) is mainly in the Jukebox area, I enter a reply after reading all the new posts, click continue, then return to forum. It then tells me there are still unread posts in there, even though I know that's false.

Also, on a couple of occasions, it tells me 'Post Already Exists' when it doesn't...

C'mon Ian, I thought you'd done a proper job on this! <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Okay - You may well get 'post already exists' in the JukeBox - it simply means that there is already an identical post in the thread in question.

This could easily happen in that forum - so best bet, be original tongue.gif

Yes i experience youtr first point as well, could it be 2 do with the cookie security level,i changed it from medium to low and it seems to have done the trick, just as a question to u computer boffs, what is the suggested cookie security level??

Gary,il think you'l find that on jukebox the posts do already exist, coz it's a chain thread eg football clubs, the club you'v posted is bound to be said b4,i think, go on embabress me and proove me wrong?!
