a real dark day for me and padbury football club as alot of local clubs no our keeper tom kennard is one of the best about and has dislocated his shoulder 3 times before and it was a matter of time before it happened again . yes it happened today the forward went 1 on 1 with tom . tom pulled of a out standing save but at the same time his left shoulder popped out its socked he is still in hospital . this is a massive blow for us not just a good player but a top bloke and a plessure to manage great dicepline and commitment . he has done every thing the docs have said to try and prevent this happening . i have never had a season with so many injuries also our left back today done his ankle ligerments he was standing in for our other left back that done his ankle 2 weeks ago lol . fair play to totternhoe today they were very organised and led 1.0 till the 80th min . and then there kepper made 4 top draw saves in the last 5 mins to stop us grabbing all 3 points . i wish tom all the best and hope you stay to be our keeper coach. also i am so glad now that i paid out for your own insurance just incase .all players should have this as it covers every thing wages bills and stuff .

Guys thanks for your kind words regarding my lad Tom, that's 4 times now as a Dad I've witnessed this and trust me the drive taking him to the hospital was horrendous.

As Craig says I can honestly say this is true he has done everything possible to avoid this injury happening again, but maybe the only way forward now might be an operation.

Can I just add been a nightmare few weeks on this forum re keeper injuries, no more please lads eh...think we've had our fair share don't you.

Thanks Loose, and even Rhodes kind words, we may have a dig at times on here but deep down we are all lovers of the game and when things like this happen it's nice to know you have fellow forum readers support.

Also had quite a few texts earlier from the guys at New Bradwell and his former manager Steve Tucker, again thanks so much, it means a lot, and of course to the players, Manager Craig Bicknell and coach Ken Speed who came straight to the hospital after the game, much appreciated.

Division One

2 5 Ampthill Town v Wodson Park

I see Red Robbo was at Ampthill Park yesterday according to another's Forum, no mention of Stuart Reynolds so he can't have been playing:

Spartan South Midlands League Div 1

Ampthill Town (0) 2, Wodson Park (3) 5,

Attendance 30 ish

Admission £4 (including 20 page programme),Tea 70p, Cheese and tomato roll £1

After watching Wodson Park's midweek defeat against London Lions I wasn't sure what to expect today. The first suprise was to see leading goalscorer Anthony Anstead returning to his more familiar role between the sticks! The second was the sunshine, haven't seen that in a long time at a game! Always liked Ampthill Town's ground with the stand that looks down on the pitch.

The ground itself is set in Ampthill Park, a very sporting area with the cricket club situated next to the ground at the far end. Ampthill and Distirct Rugby Union FC across the road near enough opposite the football club. There is also another football club by the rugby pitches with the "Home of Queensmen FC" sign and good sized stand and dressing room complex. This owned by Queensmen FC who are a Sunday side playing in the Bedford and District Sunday League.

Back to the game at Ampthill, Wodson earned a 3-0 interval lead with Tyler Hatherley playing a more forward roll than in recent times. He relished the change and helped himself to a hat trick. The home pressured early after the break and quickly pulled a goal back and struck the inside of the bar. Wodson's game wasn't so intense as the first but they sealed a fine victory with two goals in a minute with eleven minutes remaining. Pete Sawyer scored the fourth after coming off the bench and Hatherley completed a very successful day claiming a fourth and Wodson fifth. Ampthill added a second in the final minute from a corner.

Unfortunately for both sets of players they had only cold showers to look forward to. The latest nationwide crime of stealing heater oil

saw both the football and rugby clubs become the latest vicitims during Friday night - Saturday morning.

Really sorry to hear about the boy ROR. He's a top keeper and a top bloke, and im sure mr bicknell will agree with me when i say it will be a great loss to padbury united too!

Such a shame as that must be around 4times now and to be honest im suprised he even gave it a go back in the sticks after the 2nd and 3rd time, extremely brave thing to do after such an injury and im sure he has gained the respect from all the people in mk for sticking with it after all that!

just wondering whats the boys reaction to all this ROR? and is he thinking of giving up now or what plans does he have in mind if any?

All the best and hope he has a speedy recovery

Again, many thanks for the kind words.

After last season he did say that he'd give it one more goal between the sticks and all season has been working hard in the gym to avoid the injury happening again, but it's obvious now that there is a weakness.

As for Tom I guess it's all the answers he wants to the questions that are going round in his head, he's got an appointment at the hospital on Tuesday and is going to ask this time if he can have the operation and as to whether being a keeper there would be any restrictions.....if the answers are positive then he'll be back as goalkeeping is what he knows best and loves....all we can do is hope I guess.
