Thank you all for your kind wishes.

The operation went well. I'm on the treatment table at the moment preparing to take up my positions on the terraces and in the bar ( before, during and after ) on Saturday.

My surgeon assures me that this is all part of my recovery.

If Dan needs any advice about running the London marathon I'll meet him in the bar on Saturday with some advice as I completed the Gillette 1982 one. ( I know - only a mere 32 years ago !! )

All joking apart I really do appreciate all your kind words.
