Well Done Hartley Wintney

Recommended Posts

So the top 3 in Div 1 are now confirmed - well done to Hartley for securing 3rd place today and for joining Bedfont and Guernsey into the Prem.......providing 3 do go up of course!!! Let's bloody hope so, it's a long hard season and all 3 teams meet the ground grading criteria. When will we find out for sure and why can't we simply get rid of all this uncertainty???

I watched the Eversley v Hartley game today and gotta say it was a fully deserved victory.....could and should have been a lot more to be honest. Eversley were poor and defensively aweful at times - what has happened to them?? Watched them earlier in the season and was impressed with quality and workrate but today they showed little desire and seemed more interested in arguing amongst themselves. And no cockney mafia in the dugout, have they now gone onto pastures new?

Eversley did take the lead through a Matt Baker freekick after just a few minutes, but I think that was their last shot on goal - Baker offered very little else throughout and couldn't really work out if he was playing as a lone striker as he had little other support, the Eversley No.8 and their left back were the only players who seemed interested in today's local derby. Hartley had all the pressure and possession and got the equaliser through a freekick after it trickled into the net and through the hands of the keeper......what a howler!! HW did everything but score before the break and second half they just took control scoring two well taken goals in quick succession, it was always on the cards and just a matter of when not if.

Not a great game but HW showed they deserve to go up and I hope they do well in the Prem next season. Eversley looked a completely different team than earlier in the season, they were by far second best today. Hope they get their lights agreed on Wednesday night, if they don't then it will obviously prevent them from progressing - be a huge shame as pitch was superb again today considering it's almost the end of season.

Anyone know what the attendance was today? Seemed quite a big crowd but 90% of them were Hartley supporters!!!

Congratulations to all at Hartley Wintney. Thoroughly deserved to finish in the top 3 this season. Good club people and I wish them well for the future.

We weren't at our best today, but overall it's been a very good season. We've competed well in what is a tough division.

Sav is fully committed to the club and was only missing today due to other commitments.

Quite confident the lights will be given the go ahead on Wednesday. Very positive article on the front page of the local paper this week.

Hopefully we'll push on again next season and push for promotion.
