2 more goals today to add to Courtney Austins collection at Rayners Lane.

A great win for the London Tigers today.

And off in to the distance they both go ? Only Winslow United can break up the happy party ?

Leighton Town limbered up in perfect fashion for their FA Vase Sixth Round encounter next Saturday. Baldock Town opened the scoring on 24 minutes, however Leighton Town levelled just after the half hour mark through Louie Collier to go in at the break 1-1. Leighton Town came out of the traps like Mick the Miller in the second period except much faster and Baldock Town didn't really know what had hit then, firstly Ashton Campbell converted a rebound from a missed Danny Webb spot kick after the great man himself had been brought down in the box when about to pull the trigger to score. Louie Collier got his second goal on 67 minutes with a deflected drive and James Towell made it 4-1 a minute from time, the attendance was a decent 194, Corinthian FC must be literally quivering in their boots.

No reported problems at Hall Road this afternoon, I wonder whether Steve Kuhne, Ash Fuller and Dean Greygoose can finally get their first win since Mark Ducket jumped ship:

Beleaguered Steve Kuhne, Ash Fuller and Dean Greygoose can't buy a win can they, even against London Colney yesterday:

An anorak from another Forum was at the top of the table clash yesterday:

Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division
Colney Heath 3 Tring Athletic 2
Admission £7, prog £1
Tea £1.50, food available (burgers etc.)
Att. 125 appx.

1st v 2nd but this was a slow starter on a fairly bobbly pitch and on a windy day, none of which aided good football. We did get a goal just short of the half hour with possibly the first true chance, and the hosts took it following a cross that dropped to a striker who fired into the roof of the net. Tring had offered little resistance but managed to go in level. The second half was a repeat as CH lead again briefly but were pegged back. The winner came late on when the Tring keeper fumbled a shot and the rebound was pounced on. Probably just about a deserved result.
The ground is homely but on the basic side and we suspect some way short for the next ground grading level. The cover is tagged onto the clubhouse and seated to the front although not that many (2 rows) and a walkway behind where standing is possible although through numerous wooden posts so a somewhat restricted view. It is full railed and has hard standing with a narrow paved path all round. It is though not fully enclosed, admission being taken from a shed near the driveway entrance. A second small sized pitch is alongside. This did seem to be used as a general dog walking route so may have a public footpath here, as there were gates in the perimeter at either end. The other sides were more or less enclosed.
We arrived just after two so had time to walk a couple of hundred yards further down High Street to the GBG listed Crooked Billet. A pleasant traditional village pub with plenty of character. Three ales on with Tring Side Pocket for a Toad very much approved. The other two were St. Austell Tribute and Young Special.
A good day out all told.

Division One

Shefford Town & Campton 1 St Panteleimon 8

Hertspireite from another Forum was at this rout yesterday:

Shefford Town and Campton 1 - 8 St Panteleimon (HT 0 -2)
Bedfordshire
Spartan South Midlands League One (5th v 1st) Tier 10
Adm £5, programme included, Tea £1
Attendance 52 - but it looked nearer 60+...and 2 dogs.

With several local matches already postponed Shefford's well drained (grass) pitch held out, meaning they have now played the most games out of all of Division 1. The pot holed access road didn't appear as bad as my last visit. The ample car park is next to the pitch, and there were several errant balls needing to be retrieved from the car park.... there is a small tea hatch within the bar which was open today.
The game started with a mark of remembrance for one of St Panteleimon's players who died last month. St Panteleimon started with the good form one would expect from the league leaders. They used the available space and pushed forward and by half time had been rewarded with 2 goals.
The second half saw 2 more goals in quick succession, Shefford began to look tired and with less than 10 minutes left were down 8 goals. A consolation home goal was finally scored raising a huge cheer from the remaining home supporters outside the club house.

Arlesey Town v Wembley

Arlesey Town have produced another special edition match programme for tomorrow's game against Wembley:

Arlesey Town and Wembley enter the fray at Hitchin Road on Saturday, a comfortable win for the home side with a goal in each half, the second a penalty converted by full back Josh Brown. The 60 page match programme was well received:

What a nice gesture by Shefford Town & Campton last Saturday to present St Panteleimon with a framed number 14 shirt as a mark of respect to Thiago Gonçalves who is terribly missed by everyone who knew him:
