View from the Boundary
I've got to ask Karen, why is this taking precedence over the league fixture between Jets and Risborough? Can only think it was because Jets could have theoretically made FAQ2Q, but that was always going to be a stretch. AFAIK the decision to postpone the Jets v RR league game scheduled for this Saturday was only made after Jets had drawn with Kingstonian. Rhodes
This weekend's Berks & Bucks FA Senior Cup First Qualifying Round ties involving SSML Cub's, the other ties, namely, Abingdon United v Amersham Town, Langley v Winslow United, Milton United v Risborough Rangers and Long Crendon v AFC Aldermaston are being played on later dates. Long Crendon v AFC Aldermaston is still showing as going ahead on Full Time, it's a poor show isn't it: Berks & Bucks FA Senior Cup First Qualifying Round Saturday 18th September (kick off 3.00pm unless stated) Buckingham Athletic v Aylesbury Vale Dynamos Flackwell Heath v Wokingham & Emmbrook Long Crendon P AFC Aldermaston Milton Keynes Irish v Penn & Tylers Green (kick off 2.00pm)

Yes it appears that having sent out the round dates to all the Leagues concerned the Berks & Bucks FA having received no objections made the draw. Now other Leagues (the SSML was not among these) are moaning that they don't want their clubs playing County Cup games on Saturdays and have pestered the County to back down. With all these late changes taking place this week it has led to many of the SSML sides kicking their heels on Saturday. The blame lays entirely at the County, they should have either made the competition midweek from the start (not from the Third Round when their big clubs enter) or grown a pair of balls and told the other Leagues that they had the chance to voice their opinions and with none doing so the County should have stood form on their dates. I will add that the Berks & Bucks are not the only County relaxing their rules this season, I know of one other that has told clubs that they must arrange between themselves to set a Saturday date to play their County Cup tie instead of in the past the County stating which Saturday the games will be played on. Rhodes
Step 7 Jim was at this tie this evening, disappointing exit from the competition for Winslow United: Berks & Bucks FA Senior Cup First Qualifying Round Tuesday 21 September Langley 3 Winslow United 3 (Langley win 8-7 on pens) I nearly went to this game, but ended up watching Langley v Winslow Utd, which was a belter. A game of two halves; with Langley going 2-0 up in the first half. Winslow came out after the break, almost a different side, and went 3-2 up until the last 5 minutes when Langley equalised. Langley won the penalty shootout 8-7, with both keepers making a couple of saves from the spot. The referee was pretty good, and allowed the game to flow as much as possible. Winslow dismal run in the county cup continues. I believe Langley hadn’t won a game yet this season.

Rhodes
Amersham Town unfortunately fell at the first fence in their Berks & Bucks FA Senior Cup First Qualifying Round tie at Abingdon United on Tuesday evening, losing 3-1 despite taking an early lead, seeing the hosts miss a spot kick at 1-1 and playing against ten men whilst still at 1-1. Abingdon United now entertain Holmer Green in the Second Qualifying Round, date to be confirmed.
