Karen Browne

Recommended Posts

I am hearing that Karen Browne, SSML Fixtures Secretary and one of this board's moderators, passed away yesterday.

Although we didn't really get on that well, I have always had nothing but the greatest respect for the work Karen did for the SSML, and for the footballing community at large.

This is indeed a sad day.

Devastating news, I know Karen's health hasn't been good for some time now but certainly didn't expect this, apologies for the delay in posting condolences due to ongoing internet problems. RIP Karen and thank you for everything you did for the SSML, it won't be the same without you.

Yes it was reported as a sudden passing.

Seems a common theme these days.

Sad news.

A tribute to Karen from Welwyn Garden City:

https://www.welwyngardencityfc.org.uk/news/karen-browne?id=431368

WELWYN Garden City FC are shocked and deeply saddened by the sudden and untimely passing of our former club official Karen Browne.
Karen gave our club yeoman service in the capacities of Football Secretary, Programme Editor and in other various committee roles over a number of years.
After her WGC FC service, she moved on to serve the Spartan South Midlands League as a highly conscientious and very hard working Fixture Secretary and webmaster of the league’s site and will leave a huge gap in that league’s administration.
All at WGC FC extend their deepest sympathies to her family and friends at this sad time.
