Trouble at St Albans

Recommended Posts

Interesting message thread on the St Albans message board titled 'Observer'. It appears one or two saints players (including the captain Derek Brown) took exception to criticism levelled at them by a few of their own supporters and ended up following them out of the bar after a recent home match and attacking them. Allegedly.

What is disturbing is that no one has disputed what happened (its in their local paper, The Observer) but the club are taking no action against the players involved.

Now what would happen if it was fans attacking players?

If anyone wants to make comment, go to the thread now before it is removed or the board is closed down, as has been intimated. <img src="/images/graemlins/affig.gif" alt="" />

One of the guys who was attacked went to the police on Saturday evening, but the Chairman phoned him on Sunday morning to apologise and tell him that the player (Rob Smith) would be sacked and he agreed to halt police action.

Since then, the Chairman appears to have gone back on his word, seemingly 'washing his hands of'/ignoring the whole incident and Smith (along with captain Derek Brown) remains at the club.

I fancy a telephone call to the F.A. would be even more productive, if it was made clear of future action !
