But the US Army wouldn't have arrived until half-time..... but then takes the field with 25 players and makes a film about it.

The Japanese Navy team usually scores five minutes before kick-off.

The French Army would host the game and pick an International side to represent themselves of course.

Spoke to LC about this one and seems its a typographical error .. should be Lance Corporal for Messrs Geary, Douglas and Hankey but Swan was given on the teamsheet as LSgt and that is certainly a mysterious rank ?

The Italian Army would refuse to change ends at half-time.

Refs are always Swiss of course.

And another one i've just remembered - scoring tonight in a 3-0 win for Luton over Southend United in the F A Cup was one Ahmet Brkvic who played twice for Eton Manor a few years back before joining Leyton Orient - one game was against Ilford in the Cup ? Everyone thought he was one of Reg's mates from Hackney Marshes but he had really come from Dubrovnik - odd one that !

Why wasn't Brad Quinn (ex-ETFC) selected for the Army team. Is he still serving.

Come to think of it,arn't a lot of the Army over in Iraq. Add that to the fact that Enfield Town players were not allowed to play.???

Makes it a bit of a reserve fixture, don't you think.

No. they are not, this was the full British Army Senior side including five from Germany, three from Northern Ireland and the rest of the large squad from around the Country, Artillery, Logistical, Guards, etc you name it they were there . As for the Eseex side they did not, at anytime look like a "reserve" outfit and are some of the best players in our League . Darren and his staff did a brilliant job and your comments are not needed nor promote the acceptable face of Representative Football. It is one of the most difficult jobs in football trying to gell a team together and the ridiculous criticism and snide remarks made on this forum in the last couple of days merely show the immaturity of the perpetrators rather than ever phase those associated with the Essex FA side. We look forward to the fixture with Lloyds Bank in the New Year. Keep up the good work Darren !

A nice and fair enough response - what a lovely word is "mischievous" ... shades of elfs and pixies in the woodland, Enid Blyton and Sunny Stories, sitting eating bread pudding with a bottle of Tizer - o' happy days !

If you want to see "ridiculous criticism and snide remarks" check out the BOWERS AND PITSEA FC thread. Whereas LOVELY STUFF was just being mischievious, INDEPENDENT was just being nasty, but HOOKEY put him in his place.
