Hendon 1 Billericay 3

I make us 10th, but of course we still have games in hand on almost everyone above us. The only thing thats worrying me at the moment is Yeading. They were down at half time today but won. Loong way to go still. 3-1 away to Hendon is an excellent result, just wish id put the bet on that i was going to. 12-5 very tasty odds.

Excellent win today... Keiran Gallagher opened the scoring with the pick of the day's goals, firing home after a good move - his first Ricay goal. Cousins doubled the advantage with a slightly fortuitous goal - a Hendon clearance rebounded off the ref to Ross Wareham whose shot was saved but Cousins followed in for HIS first ricay goal. Hendon pulled a goal back for a 2-1 half time score.

Second half re re-established a 2 goal cushion when Cousins finished from close range after more good work from Gallagher, thereafter only rarely did Hendon threaten and we could have had more goals were it not for some good saves and a couple of wayward shots.

I was very impressed today

I was a bit worried that we would be feeling sorry for ourselves after the cup exit and Bertie's Captain Oates effort and felt that goals might be at a premium today in the return to the grind of league.

However I needn't have been as our attitude was absolutely spot on and it was clear early doors that we were well up for what turned out to be about as comfortable a win as you get. Good to see Gallagher get his goal with a thumping finish and his delivery was also much improved in the main. Pleased for Cuzz. I feel he has been playing well lately and now that he has found the net I think he can really make a go of playing up top. I suppose disappointments were letting in a soft goal so soon after we scored and contrary to littlered I thought Stowey did little else other than give the ball away and get caught offside (bar one shot on target-saved by keeper).

The positives though far outweighed the negatives and I am confident we can push on with a number of home games in December.

PS What a shockingly bad attendance - anyone know what the figure was?

Attendance was 202, 6 better than Worthing's visit to us last week, I'd say around 40-50 Ricay fans made the journey.

We're struggling through lack of depth at the moment, 2 players making their first appearances in a while, two debutant subs and 3 suspended doesn't help.

Hated seeing Gallagher score, because he was so sh*t when he played for us, was a good goal though. Referee assisted the second one and after that I knew it wasn't our day. Our goal was an excellent flick that confused Gothard, who had made an excellent save just before you took the lead, and your third goal could have been anyone in the ground scoring it given that much space by our defence.

Video highlights are available now at www.hendonfc.com You can buy the game on video or DVD also, prices to be decided, please email your interest to videosales@hendonfc.com if interested.

Best of luck for the rest of the season

PS Wasn't the referee awful??

A well deserved win and a performance that builds on the previous two weekends perfomances. It was nice to see us go out and play football against a league side, proving that we can do it and dominate. Hey, we even killed 'em off with the third goal. Since when have we dominated the play and been ruthless .

It was also nice to see Gallagher live up to the promise that Justin said he had. Many times this season he has faded, his crossess "cutting the grass" and being wasted. Yesterday, his wing play, control and detirmination certainly was an improvement and I look forward to seeing more of him this season. The same applies to "Cuzz". He has been playing well over the past month with little return. Yesterday, he opened his account and lets hope he continues. Again, skill, detirmination and hard work got him those goals.

But that is singling out two players when the whole team played well (with some panic buttons being pressed when Hendon pressed the play in the box...But I'm in a forgiving mood ). I said last week that the Ryman teams will now reap the 'Ricay whirlwind and on that performance, it seems very much as if I could be right.

I can't see any team in this league matching us on yesterdays performance and another yard stick will be our Trophy game against Yaeding next Saturday. Personally, I'm not worried about them but reading the report in the NLP, they do seem to ride their luck. After our domination of the game when we played 'em a couple of months ago only to lose 3-1 , it's time to "stick" to 'em and let 'em choke on it .

As a footnote, how did everyone cope with the M25 closure last night. It made a change to have problems going home and not panic about getting to the game on time.

A good team performance all round, think Dormer and Henty deserve a special mention though, definately Dorms best game of the season so far, we look so much better when he's playing well and Henty worked tirelessly as ever not only defensively but getting forward too, just hope Justin gives him a regular start in the side that he deserves, Danny Kerrigan maybe the natural left back but i think Gary offers a lot more going forward, very rarely makes mistakes and always plays with passion and determination.

Excellent performance, too bad Cousins didnt get his hat trick, and what a fantastic goal the opener was!

After my last 5 visits to BTFC-games ending in a draw or a loss it was a delight to attend a "3 pointer".

Thanks to the guys (you know who you are) that always welcomes us norwegians when we come over for a visit.

See you again soon, I hope.

Result of the season so far for me. Having just lost both Hockton and Brayley, we've still managed to bang in 3 goals against fellow promotion contenders. A quick head count revealed 78 Billericay supporters in attendance with 4 being from the Norwegian Branch. Top effort!

Umbrellaman, you didnt miss much, me and the loud talker ended up seeing the second half of the Barca-game in a tourist trap in Soho. Got tired, went to our hotel, had a cpl of more beers, went to bed. Lousy sunday.

See you all next time.
