sad day

Recommended Posts

At 11:00 on the 11th November each year we remember the few who gave so much for the many that live on. We may win the peace but not live to enjoy it, that is the way life is. Sometimes we lose out just when we expect to win! ETFC and EFC are risky businesses.

Now if Town doesn't perform on the field of play and EFC does and comes back to the borough sobeit people might vote with their feet and town might die (it is their perogative).

Those of us more closely connected with Town should take this as a wake-up call! We need our own ground in a good location and we need it soon!

Town have offered to talk about a merger and they prefer a whole cake rather than part so be it.

ETFC - Football for the fans governed by the fans through a democratic system.

Say EFC came back to the borough, and the money men behind EFC started arseing about agian. You would be forever switching back and forth.

Town have a long term future.EFC have a future as long as the board keep pumping money into the club.I'm not willing to rely on one or two people for the survival of my football club agian. Once bitten.

Anyway EFC will be at Ware for at least another four years,so this debate is irrelevent until they show a willing to respresent the borough to which they are associated with.

Also,if i understand correctly. If the ruling about a team must be named after the area they play in,from next season. EFC might have to change their name to Enfield & Ware Fc in order to progress.

I think realisticly football in Enfield will only be reunited when one of the clubs goes out of existence.I still feel EFC's position is much more tenuous that Towns (through lack of supporters, lack of ground in Enfield and the reliance on money being continuoisly put in by a generous board),even though they have a had a great season so far.

Half the WAFC team were there, a few people that used to watch EFC but now go to see other clubs and a couple of linesmen/refs. That accounts for about 50 who would not normally watch either club.

With regards to the crowd, I was surprised it was as high as 614... I put it at about the 500 mark.

i saw a few WA players, yourself and that was about it from abbey! (will abbey be at ANOTHER town game this evening? seem to be coming to more nm morer)

so max. ten from abbey; few linemans n refs, and that makes 50?! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

u kidding? think they sdtyopped counting at 614; thats wayt i heard; i thjought there was bout 1000

I spoke to the Swedish guy , he was wearing a Unibond hat ! Interesting " match" alround. The chap Hannigan was marshalling his forces all the time, he never gave ( shut ! ) up and there was a more definite will to win from the original lot than the perfectly competent Town . I note that no one blamed the shirts for losing ! I don't honestly think it helps hearing the foul language coming from J C's assistant on the bench. What a reunion for " Enfield " players/ staff it was in the 800+ crowd. I saw Daniel Clark and Eddie McCluskey and, of course everyone seemed to have played for each other . All I can say is that it was a pity it wasn't a draw as the party atmosphere , bearing in mind everything that has gone before, was just a bit special. Bet Brislington won't be the same !
