Russian Backer

Just seen the back of the Windsor Observer and the small article on a Russian backer who is interested in Slough.

Is there any more information available on this guy, maybe from those who have spoken to him already?

He used to play for Staines and his sons apparently play at Chertsey where he has put some money in apparently. I would take it with a gigantic pinch of salt but stranger things have happened.

It's a nice thought.

In the meantime in the real world, we're probably going to lose our best players unless our current backer comes up with a playing budget pretty soon. Latest rumour is Ian Hodges to AFC Wimbledon.

I think this story should not of been told until after a meeting with him was held by all the main parties to see how serious he is.

This STORY will now put the club into further limbo in the short term at time when funds for next season are still not forth coming from the present owners and raise the hopes of supporters by default again.

I agree with you SD. I think this story should never have come to light until several meetings had taken place and something concrete was known.

At such a delicate stage i.e. 2 weeks before pre seasons starts and hopefully Martin Deaner on the verge of confirming his backing for next season, I cannot think of a worse time to divulge this information to the papers.

I just hope this isn't the final nail in the coffin.

Talk about damned if you do damned if you don't. Criticised for not releasing information. Criticised for releasing information. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/attentat.gif" alt="" />
