I particularly liked Kobi Oates - where on earth did he get that from?

Or perhaps Greg has a middle name that he hasn't told anyone about.

When he came to read out Kola's name, I swear we were all holding our breath, including Kola, but he did it phonetically and nearly got it right.

Sometimes it is the off-field stuff that makes match day so much more fun.

There was another announcer nearly as good in the pre-season - where was that anyone?

And one last year that made a total mess of Moses and Essayas - Cambridge I think it was. And as for our Scandinavian goalkeeper ...

And did you see Sesay's reaction to his song on Monday? I thought he was well made up with that.

Yes that was brilliant. It is good though to see a announcer that makes more mistakes that Wellsie remember when we played Billericay and i think it was Mcgowen who scored for us and Wellsie said can the goalscorer please put his hand up. Classic memories. The way we are talking its like the season has come to an end.

Not at all Alex, we are going over the pleasant things and having a laugh.

I think we need more of that and less of the miserable stuff, else why go to football at all?

There's always something good to find when a load of like-minded people get together to share something they love.

There's bad too, but who wants to dwell on that?

There will be a lot more to enjoy in this season. It is by far not over yet.

A great one was the Gillingham announcer trying to get to grips with the ex liverpool midfielder - Phil Boersma. It came out Phil Bazoomer!! Quality <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

As a rams fan we had some fun with Mohammed Takologobashi!! (mo tako).

Apparantly the Gills programme a few weeks ago named the keeper (Bullock) as BOLLOCK.

I go back to the days of Almer Hall in the early 1950's when he was playing (and indeed I go back to just before that time before he was manager but only as a nipper) and do agree that he was a great manager. We had some great teams and great characters but so did the likes of Snowdown Colliery, Faversham and Sheppey United. By the way, it's great to see Faversham Town back in action again.

But we also had regular gates of around 2,000 - 3,000 and a lot of ex Football League players who, with the maximum wage in place, could earn the same playing for us as in the FL.

To be fair, Almer Hall never had to contend with what CK has had to contend with in the last 2-3 years and I do think that to make any comparison is unfair on either party.

CK has done a great job, taken us to heights which could only have been a pipe dream many years ago and deserves our support in what is a difficult time. I suspect that there may be those who thought that coming back to Hartsdown was going to be the be all and end all but does anyone really think that, given what has happened in the last couple of years, it was really going to be that easy. For a start creating a new team for each of the last two years isn't easy is it?
