while standing in the crowd today and hearing how everyone can do better, would it be possible for a member of the supporters to pick the team to play the last home game of the season at home by C K who lets face it would love to do this on a roll reversal i am sure. Chris in the crowd shouting his feelings to the bench. If this is possible who would be up for it

If this can be arranged I would be more than happy to pick the team and give out the tactics. Although I was not shouting my feelings to the bench I have made my feelings known on here and would be happy to do so on the day if I was chosen.

Seems a carbon copy of last years dire defdending at the end of the season. March was terrible last year and has been again this year. March was good in all conf years though. If April goes as last year we will pick up five points though which would keep us safe. Dont think we can finish higher than 17th. The bootom three teams can not catch us this year. iyts this fourth place thing that of course hangs over us though i think that may be waved with all the reorganisation. One month back we slaughtered Wealdstone. it looked great. What's happened !! Where will our next win come from?

Since that game some of our players including Deen and Gradley have been out injured. Like i said to Michael Holland Gradley started every game in February and we did not lose one game in February and i do believe that we have only lost one game in which Gradley has started and some people say he is not the answer to our problems. It may be coincidental though but you never know.

I think we ALL at some time think we could pick the team but as you say Steve its not just about picking the team to go out there on matchdays. Its a lot more than that. We are not getting paid to do that job but CK is so therefore it should be down to him to motivate and set up the team ready & willing to give their all when they go out there. Maybe they ARE giving their all in which case no fault lies at anyones feet but if that be the case then we have the wrong personel within our camp & that needs sorting. With the likes of TROTT, HOCKTON, BRAYLEY & now PROTHEROE surely something should be happening. Some say give it time but we should be seeing SOME kind of improvement by now. Yes, next year will be the time to judge correctly but in the meantime we need a few results and this needs looking at in more detail by the management as to where its going wrong. We all have our ideas but until the reasons for falling apart are found and rectified then I am afraid results of this nature will continue to flow. Lets just hope we manage to remain in this league to do this seasons wheeling & dealing in the player market justice.I'm sure we will scrape through and stay up but some questions undoubtedly need asking. We will see just how good a manager we have after the latest results & as we all know he IS a decent manager so maybe the next game he will have seen whats going wrong, picks a team that DESERVES to be playing, stops using his blinkered approach & stops the rot. I really am concerned about those *star* players reactions to the form of those around them.WE certainly dont want THOISE players losing interest and thats talking of staying herec for next season too & not just for there mainder of this season. We need them to stay for next season so lets get things going, get in the players to shore up that defence,to stop panicking when its not nessassary to do so, to be able to play simple easy balls,to control the ball and to play as a unit and to know whats coming next, where the balls going be played by a teamate etc etc.Losing our manager is not the answer but his ways and reasons for doing certain things needs slight adjustment thats all. i.m.o.

Just out of interest - Pat Gradley has only started 9 games this season, including the Ramsgate KMC match at the start which you may or may not count (I do). Our record for those 9 is...

P 9 W 4 D 3 L 2

...the two losses were the Rams game and the 2-1 defeat at Staines when Pat went off injured. So you could say that in the 7 completed 'competitive' games he's played we're unbeaten.

Yesterday was the first time we've lost with Darren Behcet in goal - it was his 7th start.

I would have thought we were perhaps expecting too much instantly from Lee joining our campaign, considering he has not played with the lads as a team before Saturday.

Pat missing from the line up for much of it has been very damaging to our season, I think.

We certainly are building an excellent team, but this has come on rather late in the season, and perhaps the team mentality and cohesion is lagging behind the acquisition of the talent.

I say that because we have made some signings that are widely considered to be very talented players.

But I think that you just can't stick eleven talented players on to a field and expect results instantly.

When we were drawing everything there was the same kind of piranha biting frenzy as yesterday, for different reasons.

We lost away to a team that has done consistently better than us all season yesterday. That is a shame, not a particular surprise, but I do not throw the babies out with the bathwater. We will do better in another game. We did better last Tuesday.

Fiddle de dee, tomorrow is another day.

MF the panic is that we are 4 points above Hendon and have hit a really poor run of form. Players seemed to be carrying knocks yesterday. Sadly our days of having superior fitness despite being part time are long gone. The panic I feel has built up over a period of time and it doesnt help that we are still in limbo over the stadium.

GW, I know, it is an anxious time, I feel desperate at times that we cannot seem to get it together this year, but I do feel we have enough in the tank to stay where we are (a pretty poor position, true). After all, we cannot achieve anything else, even if we win every game left this season. But next season is another matter, when we will have the chance to start with some good players, and build on that. So I am prepared to be patient, and try to be philosophical about losing games, even though it hurts like hell, as what I get from following Margate is so much more than just the game in isolation.

Goeff, the abcess is almost gone, and the tooth permanently so, and it's removal was the singularly most unpleasant experience of my life. But it did put losing an away game in perspective, in terms of what can make me feel really really bad about life. Thank you for asking.

Unusual to lose a tooth just cos of an absess. Sorry about that. yes i feel the same june it hurts to keep lurching back and forth a few wins then a losing streek. cant finish in the bottom 3 this year. But this fourth place spot needs looking into cos the league thing will be reorganised at the end. Think Lewis away was the lowest eb. but carshalton at home last year came close. Walton took a lot of getting over but on the plus so did Wimbledon away. It sure is a roller coaster ride. In the 80's and early 90's it was deadly boring. mid table mediocrety ever year non of this up down up down stuff. Boy not good for the heart. Just think 7 games left who knows what might happen!!!
