what a fantastic day full of red and white and a carnival atmosphere all around...400 urchins if not more...

tough game and the first half to the urchins rounded off by a fantastic goal from four passes and drakey into the net 'a la rooney'....

second half the 'side went 4-4-2 from 4-5-1 and then 4-3-3 and gave us all sorts of problems but to no avail...the urchin back four defended magnificently and billy holland should have made it beyond 'side but the keeper mader a fantastic double save with 10 minutes left...

the ref was a joke as usual but I suppose the less said the better...

the trophy sits proudly next to me as I type and will be in the clubhouse manana before the youth game semi against romford....

I like it and it feels real good...

I might even keep it....

a word also for barkingside who can consider themselves unfortunate not to have got something out of the game and also a big well done from all of us for their dignity and sportsmanship in defeat....a quality game played in excellent spirit...

top class advert for our league as was the organisation of the days events.......

Dom Harkins and Leon Diaczuk as usual were stars, let's hope we see them again in Ryman One next year...

or should I really say good luck Barkingside 'cos it'd mean we wouldn't have a Burnham Beano next year...

Or should we really care 'cos Tilbury will beat Romford...

Oh no they won't! THE ROMFORD!!! THE ROMFORD!!!

Agreed UU, one of my greatest ever days in footie and I have a few excellent memories, I can tell you.

A typical Cup Final with no quarter given and it was always gonna be a special goal that won the Trophy. The best move of the game and a fit Lee Sontag to the byline, how many times has he done that, and our not so little Drakey to fire it in.

The Urchins faithful, yes there must have been 400, were delirious and the roar when Nicky collected the Trophy is embedded in me and will never go away.

Must admit I nearly had a heart attack when the Lino put his flag up in the second half but it was for taking a bit of stick I believe!

A word from me about the Barkingside party, they took defeat with dignity and let us enjoy our day and were a credit.

The first major Cup Final I've seen us win and I like the taste, but the whole party from players to fans and officials all played their part, good to see some old faces as well.

We now look forward to our last league game and of course the Shindig at Bridge Road, where we can recreate that unique Urchins atmosphere.

Well done to all.

Tough old game as you'd expect, what won it for us (outside of Drakey's goal) was quality defending that restricted them to one serious chance, brilliantly saved by Mikey C who played very well.

Other than that it was a bit scrappy, but who cares, we won. Good luck to Barkingside for putting up a very good fight and onwards to Tilbury and Grays.
