it is clear that everone is disappointed about the game today, but it will make our next victory that more sweet.

when we stop being disappointed we shall stop winning trophies....

this club is about winning and it makes the pain of losing more acute...

the day we lose and don't care is the day we close up shop...

My thoughts on today's game. Firstly many thanks for the excellent hospitality, very professional in a great boardroom, also an excellent bar. The pitch was also first class.

I though we defended well and our captain was excellent. Both sides had chances and we were disapointed not to make it 2-0 early in the second half, but we held on for the three points.

We look forward to entertaining your officials and supporters in April (Long way off I know!)

Once again many thanks

Chris

Director - BTFC

Come on lads. Ok i wasn't there today, but this is the urchins style. We always lose at home early doors. Everyone has a moan and all is forgotten by mid-season when we are flying high. The same thing happen last year and the year before that!!!

Fck me i must be pi$$ed....

Heads up and move on...

The long ball was rubbish, it wasnt working at all. Their players spent more time on the floor than Ronaldo and Pires combined. The Ref and both linos were useless. If it wasnt for those twats we might of got a draw. We did play rubbish and definitely deseved to lose.

i agree, i think we badly needsome more pace in the tiffin would have lifted that game today.

but hey, hopeflly we will see improvements.

i have no problem with playing long ball,we must remember that we are ryman 1 north and not premiership,i just think that when the balls are being knocked forward then the strikers must be running on to the ball once we have knocked it on and i didn't think this was happening yesterday, don't know why because we have done it well in other games, but against gt wakering some of the football was brilliant, but i suppose the game is easier when you are winning

this morning I see things slightly differently upon reflection....we did not play well but if sadler slots the open goal after 5 minutes its a different game...the officials certainly made some strange decisions but all in all the only one that altered the game was crossy's penalty claim when he got booked for diving....I was right behind the incident and the defender definitely tripped him but he also made a big meal of it...

we hit the bar..we fizzed close chances well wide and got caught offside too many times...the bury defence was excellent and well organised and cross and janney were not at their tricky best...we also must remember that every team that comes to the bridge play 50% above themselves...its their biggest league game of the season and we have to therefore work harder than other teams...their coach said to me;-

'I wish we could play like that every week'...!!

not good at all I agree but onwards we go...'tis the urchin way to lose a game at home early in the season...and lets take comfort from the attitude of our players...to a man gutted after the game...

Blimey, I've just read all that lot and am gobsmacked!!

I didn't make saturday's game, but was speaking to my old man yesterday who did attend and when he told me he had left with 10 mins to go I was astounded. I just hope that things take a turn for the better on tuesday night......

Up the Urchins!

All in all, it doesn't sound good, especially as I was in Exeter, miles away from my second home.

With regards our style of football. Basically chaps and chapesses, if we played only one style, be it long ball or a free flowing passing game and lost all the time, you would see the crowds collapse. I love to watch a good game, but I'm selfish, I want us to win. And winning doesn't always go hand in hand with pretty football.

One other point, we seem focused on Canvey and AFC Sudbury at this point, but it strikes me that Bury and Harlow will not be pushovers either, especially from previous encounters with Harlow.

A BIG season lies ahead and a defeat isn't necessarily a bad thing. A wake up call......remember Stansted anyone?
