I think it is a good idea. It will help to bring players, managment and supporters closer. That will in turn improve the all round atmosphere and motivation and could lead to big improvements on the pitch.

It's a very good idea, I presume the first opportunity will be at the AGM?.

If Enfield Town is to make progress we need to accept that we will lose and play badly at times.

Some you win, some you lose.

Yes, we have been spoilt in the past with us fans turning up each week wondering how many we'd win by (just like the EFC days!). The problem is the way in which we have been losing; beaten by teams with less skilful players. There appears to be a groundswell of opinion that Jim has been picking the wrong players and the wrong formation and been attempting to persevere with both. No-one likes being beaten, but its worse when it appears to be of your own doing. Does Jim really still believe that Lee Smith and Dean Nyman can play as wing-backs? The wing-back experiment has not worked - let's play with orthodox wingers and get some crosses in from wide.

On the plus side I'm glad that the chairman and manager have recognised there is a problem - its far easier to bury your head in the sand. Now lets see whether Jim tries something different...

I think a regular Q & A with the management is an excellent idea. Maybe worth suggesting, but will the critics be brave enough to attend ?

As most of them don't have the balls to name themselves on here I doubt it.

You have hit the nail right on the head there Arky old chap. Most of them do hide behind silly names, that's why they say what they do most of the time.

The reason why this forum is UNOFFICIAL is not because the Club don't want to recognise or read it but for legal reasons and problems we had in the past when it was offiical.

How certain are you that a Court would consider this site to be unofficial?

What makes ETFC so different to any other club, then? A court case for making ones opinions heard!

Unless there's a link to this forum from the official club website (saying something like "official fans' forum) then I suspect the only people who can be sued for any libellous comments are the operators of this forum and of course the individual posters.

I cannot recall a comment on this forum by anybody that can be construed as libellous most is fair comment and opinion.

BTW D.O.Y stop feeling so sorry for yourself losing 7-0 indeed.

A result from the relegation season Runcorn 9(nine) Enfield 0.

Whether it is a fan's owned club or owned by one person makes no differrence.

The manager picks the team

The manager is responsible for training.

The manager chooses tactics.

The manager takes the blame for any slump in form just as the manager takes the credit for success. Jim has to accept that out of 2 major cups to, certainly in one case and probably in the other, lesser opposition is not acceptable. He has set the standard he is aiming for and given the start it is a standard that I, for one will be happy with, but if we dont look like reaching that standard I am sure that Jim will do the honourable thing.

Regards

Ask questions at the AGM or ask for a forum to ask questions?

Either way the question can be asked & lets see if we get a positive answer?

Still bemused by this apparent abuse, at the final whistle 95% of the crowd had gone & by the time Bryan walked down the tunnel, alone, as the rest of the squad warmed down, you could hear a pin drop.

All I heard was the usual groans as efforts at goal or build up play was wasted, there was several suggestions as to...how shall we say...what JC should do, but I heard no abuse hurled at Bryan.

The abuse is from a guy that stands to the far side near my family. He does not say anything throughout the game except to taunt Bryan. I am pleased that Bryan can put it behind him as it is my view, and the others that stand near me on that side - that he is a nutter.

I and my family have criticised Bryan but he is having a far better season this year than last and is worth his place given the current crop of strikers at the club. As far as a big forward is concerned. Tom Lawrence was the top goalscorer for Enfield and his records still stand he was no taller than Bryan Hammett but he had good wingers around him and scored most of his goals with his head.

I dont want to see town degenerate to the standard of play that we have seen with many opposition teams at this level. I want to see ball players who can run at players, pass quick and recover quickly with excellent first touch. I would like one or two players in the middle of the park who can challenge for the high clearances from the opposition, Lee Smith can do that, as could Steve Baldwin, and so can Brad Brotherton. Of other players that can do that I have seen no evidence this season though I have not seen enough of Makey to pass an opinion he was impressive the only time I have seen him.
