Latest score vs Edgware

Pretty sure he was skipper - was certainly talking all evening. I'm sure Scoreline is right about the unused subs, Hunt rather than Hughes - I wasn't 100% sure about that.

I thought Edgware were worth a win to be honest. Not a great game of football, mind. Their 10 up front was probably the best player on the pitch, I reckon.

i have herd that hughes has signed for Enfield...

Well, if true there will not be a Towner who is surprised, but all I am sure will be dissapointed.

The Lad was not given a chance to prove himself.

Having said that, if all Players are getting back to full fitness and a full squad...not sure where Hughes would fit in or get a place, even on the bench.

That's football. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/boxing.gif" alt="" />

Here's a good quiz question for you all.

Since the formation of Enfield Town Fc (2001).

How many players have Town signed directly from EFC ?

How many players have EFC signed directly for Town ?

How many ex-EFC players have Town signed indirectly from other clubs?

How many ex-Town players have EFC signed indirectly form other clubs?

u say ur experience of hughes is several ineffective subtitute performances, but there for proberly 15 mins per game, and from my experience his done more in them games then bryan hammatt, bryans got to be the worse forward in the league, and we all no the only reason his playing every game, so im sorry 2 see hughes go, i wish him luck

Blimey O'riley ,uncle jim might get his collar felt on this from you lot . If Hughesey bags a few for us I reckon them knives might get sharpened for jims back again eh. You cant blame the boy it cant be easy for him to be left out when so much was expected of him . But Jim knows best eh.

Nice avatar mr happy ,I always said you was one. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I wish Hughes the best of luck at Enfield and hope he does well for them. His role at Enfield Town would have been difficult to establish. As a forward he was - admittedly in the few appearances that I saw him for up to 30 mins - was lightweight and if I was manager I would play any number of players in preference to Hughes in that role.

As a midfielder he was in competition with Rudi Hall, Valendia, Lee Smith, Niall Ritchie, Paul Campbell, Matt Negus etc and there was certainly no space for him there. It seems that either he did not want to turn out for the reserves or he was not considered but contrast this with Niall Ritchie who, it seems, is a loyal club man.

Hughes is a master of ball juggling and I dont think that I have seen a better ball juggler at Enfield or Enfield Town however in order to juggle the ball he needs to bring it under control which does not suit the modern first touch and pass type of game.
