Kings Lynn

Finally came up against a team who can play a bit. 1st half we tried to take advantage of the wind, but one was never going to be enough.

2nd Half they had two goals disallowed before getting the penalty, quickly followed by the 2nd. fair play to the lads they didn't give it up and we had chances to level it. Probably one of our best performances.

We weren't outclassed, but got to say they shaded it on the day - If they're at the top of the premier then this is pretty good indicator that we would survive in it, but need a couple more players to make a challenge for it

Be Nice to hear some vocal away fans for a change wouldn't it.

First half if only we got one more goal whilst we were in control! Ah well we'll just have to win the league. Good luck to Kings Lynn in the next round. I didn't really fancy that trip anyway!

Where was Simon today?

I think we should be looking no further than what challenges await us in getting out of this division, given recent results.

Last night literally was a game of two halves. In the first half Windsor used the strong tail wind to good effect and played some sublime football and looked the better team. It was unfortunate that we couldn't get the second goal that our play deserved. The second half was a totally different story with Kings Lynn having the advantage of the wind and it looked like only a matter of time before they would score as our defence was pushed back deeper and deeper.

It was disappointing to lose in the end but there were a few positives to come from the game. We more than competed with a team that in all probability will be in the conference south next season and Chennells got back on the scoresheet ending his lean spell.

One negative was the poor attendance, where were all the people who came out of the woodwork for the Bashley game? Poor show from the Lynn fans too, only about 20 of them and they showed about as much passion as a bunch or car enthusiasts in a Renault Espace factory!

I think the match report was spot on, as for the comments about the turnout you have to remember that this game has been postponed twice and was probably doubtful in a lot of people's minds (especially those that had to travel over 20 or 30 miles.

The turnout behind the goal was good for Windsor and lets not forget the level we are playing at and the size of crowds some of the other teams are getting.

No surprise with the turnout from Kings Lynn, long way, game may not be on, just had a great day out in the FA Cup and probably expected an easy win.

We would have got 600-700 had it been played omn the Saturday, or possibly even the first Tuesday, but after two postponements and a lot of rain, well, we saw last night......

But i agree wew played very well and ultimately we met a better team (haven't seen too many of those this season), but it does bode well for the rest of the season and next season.

i would be very disappointed if we didn't at least get a play off place, and there is no-one in this league who we would fear getting.

UTR and t

lets get back to winning ways.

I too completly agree with Mr. Thistle.

Lynn looked completley beaten in the first half, but they battled on and got a result, so fair play to them.

I think we looked a bit tired in the 2nd half - which is hardly surprising after such a good first, but it was still a performance to be proud of (despite the loss).

And congratulations to the groundsman for an excellent job just getting the game on.

Go back to mummy, you've got infected spinal column in a bap waiting for you cooked by your brothers-cousins-sisters-wife. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/cheeburga.gif" alt="" />

I suspect the guy above is not a Linnet but someone local to you taking an opportunity to give you grief. We've not had that sort of post from any of our guys for some time now - except in response to serious provocation.

Sadly, I couldn't make Tuesday but I'm definitely please we got over the possible "banana skin". I wish you all the best for the rest of the season.

But just an observation having gone through your photos - which were pretty good; your pitch did look a tadge wet!

Richard, it looked wet because it was wet! Having had a clear forecast for the day we had a torrential downpour after I had informed your people the game was on and the referee was a bit dubious about starting but said if both teams were willing to play he would at least start the game and see how things went. Had it been a local game I think it would have been called off late in the day but neither club wanted that with the fixtures piling up.

Interestingly your chairman was at the ground by 5 pm and commented on the hard work our groundstaff were putting in [still working under floodlights] to ensure the game went ahead and how your pitch used to be like that not so long ago. Ironically it's the first time we've had waterlogging problems for a couple of years now but the amount of rain we've had down here has been unbelievable lately!

Despite what the idiot who claims to be a KL supporter said I know your management and supporters were glad to get the win under their belts and were relieved to hear the final whistle as we had made them work hard for their win which I think they just about earned on the day.

Best wishes at Mangotsfield, it looks a good tie on paper with you next to each other in the league and I've heard they're a bit physical so I hope your good football can win through.

Thank to both of you - Doris, a gentle laugh at this time of the morning always makes the day go a little easier!

We played Mangoes at The Walks and it wasn't too bad - and I enjoyed visiting them last season. Don't think they are that "thuggy" - not when compared to say Corby, for example!

Best wishes for your drive to promotion,

Richard

Sec, Your not suggesting we actually had a ref that used common sense are you?

I must admit I was surprised when I heard the match was on and was pleasantly surprised to see the pitch looked better than I thought it would, obviously it cut up rather quickly but I thought the pitch and the wind made for a good old fashioned cup tie.

Could someone help, please. I collect the enamel badges for the clubs we play - as does my daughter - but sadly we did not get them for Windsor and Eton. Can someone please guide me as to how I might get two, please?

Ta

Richard
