Towners v Tilbury updates

Recommended Posts

John, Nay, Bastian, Allen, Stephens (Gant), Campbell (Hunt), Velandia, Hall, Nyman (Afriyie), Hammatt, Crace. Looked like Negus and Magona the unused subs.

Very good performance against a team that allowed our midfield way too much space to dictate things. It really could have been double figures, the amount of chances we created. Very pleasing to see an attendance of 441, and some goals too. Let's hope we carry this form on until the end of the league season and beyond!

As i said.If teams stand off us,and have slow defenders,we will wipe the floor with them.

Good performance in the sunshine. The 4-4-2 is now working a treat with two dedicated full backs.Nyman and Campbell both provided good width and played very well. Both were unforunate to be substituted (although the substitutions was highly predicable). You have to feel sorry for these two sometimes.Saying that Afriya and Hunt did well as replacements. Our front pair looked good (a feat not overly taxing aginst their markers today). But fair play, you can only beat what is put in front of you,and we did that with flair and plenty pleasing football.

You have to feel sorry for those two why? both came off with slight injuries both were having treatment right in front of us ,so best keep your mouth shut and stop making silly comments like you know what your talking about ,apart from that it was a good performance but against poor oppostion but who cares.

Those injuries must be niggly ones. They seem to have been affecting them all season. eek

Seriously. We know Paul has been affected by a slight back injury this season, but his reaction to first seeing his number being shown, to kicking away a training top on his exit from the pitch, indicated that he had no desire to come off,or maybe he was just frustrated at his injury playing up again?

Obviously the average supporter must take what they see at face value,we are not privy to the goings on of the team regarding injuries/discipline..etc.

Would be nice for people who have are involved in the changing room and who are privy to whats going on (brutus..ect), to simply put the record straight rather than telling fans to 'keep your mouth shut'.

THe one i dont get is Nyman....

Didn't start on his 100th.....

Other than him the subs seem to be fairly spread about if not apparently making sense - but nothing new there FJ and I have always complained about substitutions....

And I dont think people in the know should come on here relating to injuries - other clubs read these forums and it is a useful pointeer to who may be carrying a niggly injury that may have cleared up by the next game or it might almost have done....

Do not discuss injuries? What about formation,tactics,performance,line-ups..etc.All of which will be much more relevant to opposing teams than 'slight' niggles.

If thats the case, why have a forum at all,if we cannot discuss anything that may possibly be seen by other teams? Fans of serveral other clubs seem to have that mindset with their forums, and as a result their forums are pretty dead and in the main unused.

I personally feel that the discussion of tactics,formations..etc by grassroot fans can have a highly benificial effect on the teams future performances. The management and players regulary read this forum (even if most don't post) and i'm sure it at least makes them think about how other people see the game, plus the management get plenty of feedback , suggestions and ideas thrown their way. That must help them, and maybe we as fans can give a more honest opinion than those closer to them in the set-up.

Aaah the old brutus has returned, perhaps you would be wise to think before you write.

Did you not hear the crowds reaction to the substitutions when they were made? Niggly injuries? yeah lets hide behind that excuse huh, but anyway the game was won so lets keep them fresh for Monday.......... if they are picked of course & hope Arsley are not a physical side as god knows what formation we'll play then!!!!

A good win yesterday even as already said against the worst opposition seen this season, but we played well in every position & looked good coming forward lets keep it up on Monday.
C'mon the Town!

It looked like Deano was injured as he was immediately given an ice-pack for his calf once he'd been subbed.

Nice to hear some encouragement from the bench at some points during the second half.

Tilbury were poor and we should have scored more.

Other teams don't need our help in informing them of our lack of height, team formations, etc. If they are doing their job properly, then they probably already know.

It was good to see 'poacher' Bryan score his three goals on Friday and no doubt he will benefit from the feat. Here's hoping for more on Monday.
