Well some would probably not class me as sane anyway, but I disagree with the EU members coming here to work bit. Not completely but it has to be controlled. There was a programme on TV a month or two back about Crewe (i think) where there has been a mass influx of Polish immigrants. The local infrastructure cannot cope with such an influx and everone suffers. Unscrupulous employers are beside themselves as they can pay peanuts instead of a proper wage and there are agencies enticing them to come over and set up home because of the wonderful opportunities (not so wonderful once they've arrived). In the same way if things were crap here, tens of thousands of British citizens shouldn't be able to just up sticks and head for Germany or wherever times may be good.

I think it's pretty clear that Thatcher's ethos, continued by Major and Blair has resulted in the free labour movement across Europe, rather than any Socialist ideals....

Just to get a balanced view on here. Ishtmian Fans Forum didn't delete anything from the threads (apart from I gather a one or two word answer to an Admin post that should have been locked).
The debate is on there for all to see. But on Gavins own site is this:-

While I am ALL for free speech, there were comments made by myself and others which could be construed wrongly and possibly cause offense to those reading them. One post in particular I took offensive to and removed.

At this very serious time for Edgware Town Football Club I DONT want this message board to take on some kind of political stand when what we should be concerned with is the future of the Football Club.

Again I AM all for free speech, and dont like to remove people's views, but in this circumstance I think its the right thing to do.

Anyone posting anything further on this subject will find their message removed.

Well Gav, you should perhaps understand then why Isthmian Fans Forum took their stance on asking you to temper some of your views - and you can't hide behind the original post (not written by you) as the only offending article. You started your reply with - "I agree".

Just another excuse for people not being able to exercise the thing our forefathers fought for which is freedom of speech amongst other things.

People aren't racist when they point out that immigration to the extent we have had can have a negative effect on certain areas and certain things to which we hold dear to us.

On an open public forum, it is difficult to make that call and decide where the line is, you gotta aggree with that? I suppose if a lot of people using the site complain, then the administrator has to act in some way to protect that site.

Action by the admins shouldn't be prompted by the number of complaints; it's only necessary if those complaints are justified. They should take an objective, non-partisan view of the nature of the complaints & only act if absolutely necessary.

 

To act just because a lot of people are shouting at you is akin to giving in to bullies. Admins should have bigger balls than that.

 

There are no racist remarks in the original post. It merely suggests that as communities change, in this instance due to immigration, institutions that pre-date that change may fail if they don't adapt. If they do adapt they may then alienate the remnants of their original "community". You may or may not agree with that idea, but either way nostalgia for "how things used to be" is human nature, not racism.

It was only the wealdstone fans on the isthmian forum who saw the original message as 'racist' and went all out to get me thrown off that forum.

 

As you know I have a public dislike of wstone fc, and those on that forum know that. I agree I have done my own share of winding up but they do seem to be a particulary sad bunch!

 

A couple of non wstone fans also agreed with them, but on the whole it was the wstone fans.

 

Should be fun when we play wstone at the White Lion Ground next Tuesday in PSF!

On the Kingsbury thing: if group of people, perhaps immigrants, which to set up a football club, fine, that is perhaps to some extent a small step towards integration. There are a couple of such clubs in the Essex Senior League for example, and a nice bunch of guys as I recall. However exclusive clubs are themselves by definition separatist, sectarian and arguably racist. A better step to integration might be to join existing clubs of course: players and supporters can abstain from alcohol in the bar if they choose of course.

 

The worst possible thing is surely to 'take over' an existing long established club, change its name, change its ethos, and effectively change it from an ordinary, local NL club into an exclusive, separatist sectarian club. Of course it will alienate supporters and players.

I really do scratch my head with what goes on around us in our society.....we are governed and controlled by an hysterical self serving media and PC guidlines that have effectively taken the great out of britain and made our traditional ways of life disappear forever.....our streets are rampant with crime and the statistics prove beyond doubt that ethnic minorities are responsible for 70% of it....people are afraid to walk their own streets and child abuse is at an all time high yet pdo's are released back onto the same streets where their victims live by the PC do gooders who are probably more sympathetic than draconian in their views as they too share those hidden and monstrous thoughts and desires....

 

our society is corrupt and controlled by queers..lesbians and kaftan wearing darlings who wouldn't dream of walking the streets or sending their kids to state schools but delight in guiding us down the path of their bright new world for the masses....our polticians and judges are above the law and do as they wish in the image of the medieval barons as they rape the countries coffers..expose themselves to young people on trains without fear of prosecution...forge their expenses to keep their mistresses happy and sell titles to the highest bidder.....all the while the silence from the populace is deafening...

 

the whining and vindictive PC bullies can slag me off all they want about my lack of PC correctness and call me a racist and homophobe and I care not a jot...I know what I am and I shall continue to air my views in the hope that one day soon the apathetic couch potatoes who make up the majority of this countries residents will wake from their big brother induced trance...shake off the fear of peer condemnation..stop stuffing themselves and their ghastly uncontrollable fat kids with mcdonalds and burger kings and and see the fckn wood for the trees.....
