Midweek Fixtures - 1st/2nd/3rd/4th April

Recommended Posts

Linesman with illness is news to me. I'd like to see where the consistency is with regards to late kick offs. We go to London Colney and players turn up 15 minutes before the start yet we are made to kick off on time. Stotfold come to us and have the required amount of players to start the game and get an allowance of 10 minute delay. I just don't understand this

Tuesday 2nd April

PREMIER DIVISION

0-0 London Colney v Hanwell Town

Happy with the point and clean sheet as we had regular starters missing from our starting line up.

DIVISION ONE

3-6 Southall v Bedford

Southalls defending was shocking at times and there keeper G.Jallow had a shocker if D.Cassells doesnt start against Kentish Town on Thursday i will be very surprised. Southall need to get a set regular line up if they are to go up next season way to many changes to the starting line up each game which i was told by some Southall supporters who were not happy. If Southall had taken some of there many chances they had they could have got something out of this game. I thought Bedfords num 10 gave the Southall defence all kinds of trouble they could not handle him.

Watched one of my most local SM clubs, Buckingham Athletic outclass a Stony Stratford side last night.

2-0 to Buckingham at half time, should have been 3-0 if it wasn't for a superb save from the Stony keeper from 6 yards. Buckingham looked the better side in possession trying to play football in patches, where as Stony were relying more on the long ball.

Even though Buckingham won the second half 3-1, it was a slightly more even affair than the first. But overall I thought Buckingham looked by far the better side.

Another big difference was Buckinghams centre forward who scored 4.. He made Stonys centre backs look very poor indeed.

And a very cold evening!

Leverstock green 0-4 Berko

Much improved performance in the second half after quite a tepid first half in which Berko dominated the first 10 mins then levy green created the best chances. Whatever was said at half time seemed to change things as we pressed levy second half and got our reward on the hour. After that it was pretty much all Berko although 4-0 was a bit flattering in the end.

At the London Lions game and have spied a rather peculiar looking gentleman in the crowd. Think it's a gnome with that hat. Possibly Greek but not sure

Tuesday 2nd April

PREMIER DIVISION

0-4 Leverstock Green v Berkhamsted

A brief report from another Forum:

SOUTH MIDLANDS LEAGUE PREMIER

Green 0-4 Berkhamsted

Admission £5.00 Programme Free (original reissued with insert) CB & C £3.30

Arrived to find the car park full and the game already under way (I forgot that LG's NIMBYs insist on them kicking off at 7.30), but managed to snaffle one of the last programmes and the double cheeseburger and proper mugs helped calm my annoyance.

Unfortunately, LG didn't really turn up unlike their visitors who rolled into Pancake Lane, calmly tossed the hosts aside with minimal effort and left them completely flat. No attendance was given, either on MITOO or at the ground, but I would estimate about 70, the majority of whom still prefer to squeeze under the covered bit outside the clubhouse.

Should have taken a pic of you devouring that triple cheese burger and extra large chips.
