What a great place to go for the last day of the season! Could it be the title decider?

Witham started last year with some enormous goal scoring I hope they don't this season!

Potters Bar is the local derby at Christmas. Shame it is not Waltham Abbey - better gate potential!

Not Bedfont shocked

A bitch to get too,and the coldest place on gods earth.Who remembers the cup game there about 10 years ago with Enfield?
It was a dark winters evening. The weather all week had been below freezing,so i took along three coats.A 30 mile an hour wind that cut you to the bone, whipped straight through all three layers. The temperture was about -5.Add the windchill, and it was at least -20,i kid you not.I remember a few of us standing over the far side (along with Lawrence the camera man).Within 20 minutes we were all nearly dying of exposure ,and with Lawrence, who abandoned his camera, spend most of the game running up and down the touchline on the grassbank, just trying to stay alive.

I've been at some bitterly cold games throughout the years (anyone remember wembley away),but i can honestly say that the game at Bedfont was easily the worst i can remember.

Ps..If my memory served me right.I think Town also played Bedfont away a few seasons ago in a minor cup.

If you like the place that much, then maybe we can play both games on the same night!

Great sailing to the first game of the season and, probably, the last.

I remember that "Cold One" too. At half time, we (Safety Officer, Me, Mrs R & Neve's Nan (I think) got a ball of Borgy
and had a kick-about on the pitch to keep warm. I recall George shouting to the players "Talk to each other" but there was not a lot of point you could'nt hear with the planes going over every few seconds. I remember that night Concorde giving us a flypass.

Happy days.

Bedfont v ETFC
Middlesex Senior Cup
2/12/03

Score 4 - 1 to Bedfont.

Freezing cold if I remember rightly with the lovely smell of fuel oil drifting over the ground every time a plane took off or landed.

Yes SL I was there, I've never felt so cold. The downdraft from Concorde made it even colder, but itlooked fabulous. arschkalt
