Matt, Zenden and Stanic??!!!!!???

When was the last time you went to the Bridge?? They are both awful, especially in comparison with great players like Cudicini, Gallas, Terry, Lamps, and the magic man Zola.

Also, Bates is an [****!!****], but at least he speaks his mind, and without him there would be no Chelsea.

UP THE BLUES!!!!!!

UP THE GULLS!!!!!!

Sorry FBF, never actually seen a Chelsea home game! Seen a couple of Away ones though - The friendly at St. Albans sticks in my head the most - Just managed to win it 2-1!!

Agree that the likes of Cudicini, Gallas, Zola etc. are quality, but I just like Wingers that's all!! Even if Le Saux or Babayaro were playing on the left instead, I'd probably like them more too.

To be honest, I think we can let Hasselbaink go, I don't rate him that much and with Forssell out on loan gaining experience I think him, Gudjohnson, Zola, Cole & Oliviera are the only Strikers we need.

Some fair points there regarding the forwards. Also agree that when Le Saux plays in midfield he is the nuts (Sven???????)

Must admit Chelsea are my first love, I do most home games, and I watch Canvey when blues are away/ midweek.

I think if Chelsea can sign a commanding midfileder they could challenge, unfortunately Petit is not a Keane or Viera.

I've just found this thread ! C - H - E - L - S - E - A

WOW ! True Blue experts. Stamford Bridge not a good playing surface ? You obviously haven't been to the Bridge since the pitch re-lay ! I was up there for the day with my Grand-son a few weeks ago. (Yes ! He hopes to play for them one day, and is already doing basic training with them. Not bad for 6. A better surface NOW than most prem pitches.

Ken Bates ? Mmmmmmmmmmmm ! I won't get drawn on that one though I have my views.

Talking of old players. How about Ron (Chopper) Harris. Now there WAS a defender. He used to live not half a mile from me in his playing days, as the bar of the White Horse Hotel can testify. During the summer, (close season) it wasn't unknown for us to sample a pint or two. Ar ! The good old days !

Ok then Chelsea fans, what's you views on Desailly going at the end of the season?

Also why is Albert Ferrer and Winston Bogarde still at the Bridge? Bogarde is on £40K a week and we want to clear our debts, surely offloading such players would be usueful?

I can see a few of the Chelsea youngsters doing well for the Club too. The likes of Carlton Cole, Filipe(?) Oliviera, Robert Huth and Leon Knight to name a few.

I agree with you Matt, not really a Chelsea fan but I'm glad that they're finally using more future ENGLISH stars, i.e Terry, Cole and Knight and I can see a Champions League place this season then who knows. Its a shame that the previous couple of managers wasted so much money on people who don't play, i.e Bogarde, Ferrer but I can see Chelsea reaching the quarters of the CL next season and probably a 4th place this season. Personally, I can see Desailly staying at the club but he won't play, I think Ranieri will play Gallas and Terry in the defence as they are the future where as Desailly was a great player but may not hack it much longer, I see him becoming a possible Laurent Blanc. Still all the best for next season blues fans and I hope you beat Arsenal and United to the title as the Premiership is getting too boring

There are big problems with some of the over aged, over paid imports. I think Ranieri has done a good job bringing the youngsters through and even if we do get into the CL we can look at offloading De Geoy, Ferrer, Bogarde, Stanic, Hasselbaink, Zenden, and maybe even Petit. I can't see Desailly leaving if we do reach CL, the club have said they want him too stay but his contract won't be renewed at the end of next season. This has been his best season at the Bridge and he is desperate to win a major honour there and beleive me CF he can still hack it.

Hopefully we will see more of Cole, Oliveira, Keenan, Forsell and Huth next season, though I don't think Knight will make a premiership player.

As for old Players Big JR, I'm a bit too young to have seen Chopper Harris play, My favourite players would have to be King Kerry Dixon, Pat Nevin and Micky Thomas.

i have to laugh about premiership clubs in trouble with finance.. you can charge 40,000 people whatever you want to watch a game (even a non event of a game) plus t.v. money by the fist load plus huge sponsership deals..plus a waiting list as long as your arm of people desperate to get in and give you more maoney to watch a game and you end up in debt..hahahhaha tough [censored]...

i went to the bridge when it was 3 quid to get into and stand in the shed..at the time everyone thought that was a ludicrous amount of money to pay .. it was chelsea liverpool and if chelsea had won they would have gone top of div 1 as it was then..dixon speedie nevin et al struttted their funky stuff but to no avail , the blues lost 1-2.. that was the very start of their terminal decline into relegation
