An anorak from another's Forum was at this one:

London County FA Junior Cup - QF - 1:45pm - Att 15
Barkingside Recreation Ground
Blue Marlin 1 Newham Borough (SECP) 5

Most local games at this level were waterlogged off this afternoon, but I was pleased to arrive and find the nets up and the teams preparing to start on time. I have been meaning to tick this off for some time and finally took my place on the Ken Aston memorial bench to see a lively cup tie take place. The pitch was soggy, but played well and we even had a referee and two official assistants.

The Recreation ground is very basic, with two pitches and a small changing room block. Though there is a Tesco opposite if you need refreshment.

The hosts matched their higher ranked opponents well, until losing a player late on for dissent and conceding a couple of breakaway goals. A chilly, but worthwhile visit.

Not really as I watched British Airways play Feltham in a pre-sesaon friendly in the summer and turned them over quiet easily.British Airways do have a good saturday side.

Lol, no other than Football Man from this very Forum, well formerly from this Forum. Fair play to Bethnal Green United for another great win.

Hayes United Vs BGU

Big game this saturday.I will deffo be down there for the clash of the top 2.This should be a good game and hope dodgy weather does not postpone this.

Think Bedfont sports will miss out again unfortunately as they've dropped far too manty crucial points season, especially at home. They have the facilities to go up to combined counties League also, but unless something dramatic happens this season, then I think it will be a bridge too far for them this time around.

TRB - Yes GAFFA1 phoned me this morning asking if I was planning to go to 'the big one' on Saturday, I asked him if the Pope was Catholic as it will be the game of the season by far. Be sure to introduce yourself if the game is on, lets hope it will be particularly with Bethnal Green in such a rich vein of form, I feel they will do Step 6 far better justice than Hayes United would.
