If we cant get that on by Tuesday then the fans behind the goal should give us a chorus. [/qu

Consider it done dj3

Okay, let's all go mad Tuesday evening !!

Play the "theme" IF / WHEN Town score.

This works at 20 / 20 cricket and Rugby League and gets the crowd "going".
There is probably some old FA rule against it !!

Guess who just got back today

Them wild-eyed boys that had been away

Haven't changed that much to say

But man, I still think those cats are crazy

They were askin' if you were around

How you was, where you could be found

Told 'em you were livin' downtown

Drivin' all the old men crazy

The boys are back in town

(The boys are back in town)

The boys are back in town

(The boys are back in town again)

You know that chick that used to dance a lot

Every night she'd be on the floor, shakin' what she got

When I say she was cool she was red hot

I mean, she was steamin'

And that time over at Johnny's place,

Well, this chick got up and she slapped Johnny's face

Man, we just fell about the place

If that chick don't want to know, forget her

The boys are back in town

(The boys are back in town)

The boys are back in town

(The boys are back in town)

The boys are back in town

(The boys are back in town)

The boys are back in town

(The boys are back in town again)

Spread the word around

Guess who's back in town

Just spread the word around

Friday night they'll be dressed to kill

Down at Dino's Bar 'n' Grill

The drink will flow and the blood will spill

And if the boys want to fight, you better let 'em

That jukebox in the corner blastin' out my favorite song

The nights are getting longer, it won't be long

Won't be long till the summer comes

Now that the boys are here again

The boys are back in town

(The boys are back in town)

The boys are back in town

(The boys are back in town)

The boys are back in town

(The boys are back in town)

Spread the word around

The boys are back in town

(The boys are back in town again)

The boys are back in town again

Been hangin' down at Dino's

The boys are back in town again

Did you know? and not a lot of people know this....

That tune was written in Stan Bowles Mum's front room!

Phil Lynott was visiting & having a cup of tea with a few others when Stan rang his Mum, she then muttered the immortal words "hey Stan the boys are back in town" Lynott then sat on the sofa and penned the classic!

They dont write them like that any more!

Never knew much about Stan Bowles but I'm going to have to read the book now...sounds like a real lad!

Stan Bowles was one of THE iconic faces of seventies English football, alongside the likes of Peter Osgood, Tony Currie and Charlie George. A maverick in the truest sense of the word. He was a skilful player, a dribbler and a goal-scorer. He broke the British record for European goals in a season back in 1976/77, during QPR`s UEFA Cup run. The only problem for Stan and those others is they were in the shadow of THE top dog at the time, one George Best. Best gets a mention in this book of course.

Stan`s partner-in-crime was Don Shanks and their merry escapades make for marvellous entertainment, there is hardly a dull page in the whole book with loads of laugh out loud moments. If you like your football books to contain loads of anecdotes and opinions this is the book for you. It has some of the funniest I have ever read, and it is also the only footballer`s biography I can think of that mentions the Shoot To Kill inquiry and Thin Lizzy. Also, unlike many such books, Stan doesn`t bore us with his `romantic` laisons, he makes it quite clear his main obsession was betting, followed closely by betting. Although earning good money by the standards of the day, he doesn`t worship filthy lucre but rather regards it as a means to an end. More visits to the dog track. A brilliant read.

Wagga, I have that book (I only read autobiographys-dont know why!) its a brilliant read, proper laugh out loud material.

Another famous tale I once saw Rodney Marsh (another legend & a another great autobiography) share on TV was that with 10 mins to kick off another QPR player came into the dressing room showing off a new pair of boots & shouting about how he had just signed a sponsorship deal with adidas & that were paying him a pretty penny to wear them.

Stan suddenly disappeared & when the teams were warming up with seconds to kick off Stan came running on to the pitch, a team mate asked where on earth he had been, Stan then said he had gone in search of the adidas rep found him & signed a deal himself, the team mate then noticed he had odd boots on Stan explained he had bumped into the umbro rep & signed a sponsorship deal with them too!
