Groundshare re Promotion

Recommended Posts

NATIONAL GROUND GRADING - CATEGORY F

(appropriate to NLS Step 5)

NB When considering any developments of the ground to comply with the requirements of this

grade, clubs are recommended to bear in mind the criteria for higher gradings which might be

achieved for minimal additional expense.

1. GROUND

The ground must give an overall appearance and impression of being a football ground suitable for the

National League System.

It must be possible for spectators to view the match, either standing or seated, for the full length of at

least 3 sides of the playing area. Where one side is designated as spectator-free, measures must be

in place to ensure there is no unauthorised access.

The location of the ground, in so far as its relation to the conurbation whose name the club bears, or is

traditionally associated with, must meet with the approval of both The Football Association and the

Board of Directors or Management Committee of the league of which it is in membership.

The club must disclose plans and details of any proposed future move to a new stadium to both the

league of which it is in membership and The Football Association.

The placement of any club which is the result of a merger of two or more clubs will be dealt with on its

merits.

1.1 Security of Tenure

Where a club does not own the freehold of their ground, evidence of adequate security of tenure must

be provided.

1.2 Ground Share

Ground sharing is permitted in accordance with the provisions of individual league rules and regulations

1.2 is interesting. The passage above is direct from the FA and does not mention a groundshare having to be in place for a year. Anyone know what it says in the CCL rules ?

There you go

4.12 No Club shall move to another ground or seek to share a ground, including its own, without first obtaining the consent, in writing, of the Board. Any ground sharing agreement for a period in excess of 13 weeks must be in writing and be approved by the Board before being entered into and (except in an emergency) completed by 31st May in each year to be effective for the following Playing Season. A copy of the completed agreement must be sent to the Competition Secretary within 7 days of signing.

Interpretation : Ground Shares

i) No ground share will be regarded as permanent. Plans for an alternative permanent ground must be provided before the ground share will be approved.

ii) The club must have sole control over and use of facilities on match days.

iii) Ground sharing will not be allowed in order for a club to gain promotion or retain status at Step 5. A ground sharing agreement must have been in force at the start of the season before a club may seek promotion to step 5 at the end of that season. However, a clubs may move into a ground share in order to gain promotion to or retain status at Step 6.

iv) Ground sharing will not be allowed in order to maintain status. If the facilities of a club do not meet the requirements of the competition by 1st April in any season that club may be placed at a lower step. A ground share may be approved whilst remedial work is carried out but the facilities at the temporary gound will not count to maintain the clubs status.

v) The ground share must allow the club to have a priority over fixtures published in advance except where priority must be given to competitions of higher precedence

Just to clear up what Teffers and SL are on about, our Stiffs were booted out of the league cup this week cos the 2 of the three subs that we made in the last 10 seconds of the match had not played enough games. Only one of the subs touched the ball as well!

Oh well rules are rules.

We are thinking of getting a trophy made up for when we play Staines Lammas ressies last week - The Kicked Out of the League Cup Consolation Cup.
