Tring Athletic finished off their Pre Season games with a fine 2-1 win at Leighton Town with goals from Vinny Inaonne and Nick Jackson

Think Tring Athletic still have a pre-season game this Saturday

... not forgetting the Herts Charity Shield tie @ Harpenden this Tue eve (7:45)

... as for 'missing' results from Rhodes' comprehensive list:-

- drawn a blank with Hares vs Sun Postal - no updates on either clubsite (yet)

- found : Pitstone & Ivinghoe 1-1 Aston Park

- similar 'fail' with Brox B v Wingate & F - I suspect this may not have been played - what with their Festival and all - or praps was a W&F Reserve side - no mention of it anywhere on their clubsite.

Oh and finally not SSML but may be of passing interest:-

Aylesbury 0-5 Wealdstone

... there are match reports on both the Aylesbury and P&I websites should anyone wish to look further?

Royals26 - I would have thought Samuelsmiles could have enlightened us on this one by now, his interest in Harefield United appears to be on the wane and I expect he will latch onto another Club soon

The Cold End - The game is taking place at Clitterhouse Playing Fields just behind what sadly remains of Hendon FC

Sawbridgeworth Town 2 Welwyn Garden City 0 (Herts Charity Shield)

A report on this walk in the park on Saturday for Sawbridgeworth Town from another's Forum:

Sawbridgeworth Town 2 - 0 Welwyn Garden City

Herts Charity Shield, Round 1

Admission £5; prog £1

Took the chance to start off my season a week early with a competitive fixture. Town's win was fairly comfortable. After easing to a 2-0 lead in the first half an hour, they were rarely threatened.

The ground has had some extra cover added since my last visit in February, although it has a temporary feel, consisting of scaffolding & corrugated iron.

Nice to see a programme, although £1 for a 4-pager seemed a bit excessive, even though it was in full colour on stiff paper.

I've always wondered how Sawbo have kept their Step 5 status when in reality their ground is no better than Cockfosters !

Result from last night - Padbury United 5 v Bedford 3

Not the Bedford Town as we were lead to believe but Bedford from SSML Division 1, however they looked a lot better than the Bedford teams from recent seasons and on this form could have a good season, have some good individuals and play some nice football, took the lead, however 3-1 to Padbury at h/t, Padbury also having a good goal somehow ruled out and hitting the woodwork.

Second period Padbury changed some personell and it took a while for the game to get going again, Bedford reduced the arrears before Padbury again hit the woodwork, however soon upped a gear and went into a 5-2 before Bedford had the last say with a goal in injury time.
