Enfield Town vs Ilford

Good highlights Mr End! Cracking 3rd goal from Michael.

Interesting to see Jey Siva on the bench on Saturday. Does the new signing push him down the pecking order?

Given that Danny Barber is a specialist left back and Jey, for all his qualities, isn't I think that's a reasonable assumption. It's just unfortunate for Jey that with our current system there isn't really anywhere else for him to play.

With both Lee Allen and Jey filling in as full backs we were giving away too many silly goals and something needed to be changed. Two clean sheets, albeit against lowly teams, is a step in the right direction.

Whilst I would agree that we were giving away too many "silly" goals. I do think that blaming Jey for this situation is incorrect. Of the last 5 goals Enfield conceded (3 against Sudbury and 2 against Ware) 4 out of 5 of those goals came from the right flank where Lee Allen was the defender. I dont think that Jey could be blamed for any of them.

I have suggested that the game against Soham was not one of Jey's better games and was criticised for that comment. However although Soham didn't have the intelligence to exploit it I noted in the second half that Jey left the winger in plenty of space which seemed to me to be dangerous. I think that is why Steve brought in Barber (but the seven day approach had to be before the Soham game). Also Jey's passing was certainly poor against Soham and we were not seeing those pin point passes into the box.

However Jey is, in my view, by far our most comfortable player on the ball and rarely loses possession once he has got it. I do not think he will be out of the side for long and believe he should be tried in midfield.
